Trucks are big business representing high returns and stakes for the auto brands that build them. Now in its third generation, Toyota has finally re-engineered the Tundra full-size pickup with competitive features that we have come to expect symptomatically from the Americans. But is it enough to garner market share from the Big 3? Well, Toyota invited Automotive Rhythms / Fit Fathers to Texas for technical briefings with their Tundra designers and engineers to find out. Yes, they are ready starting with power that emanates from a twin-turbo V6 generating 389-hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque or Toyota’s powerful i-FORCE MAX hybrid twin-turbo V6 delivering 437-hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,400 rpm. Both pair with a new 10-speed automatic transmission with intelligence (ECTi). Ready to rumble? I am!

A Water Strider is able to run on top of water due its ability to distribute its weight over a large area and the surface tension of the water.
My Lego Technic version of this amazing creature is motorised and is able to walk on land using it's long legs, and with the assistance of some extra flotation, it is also able to swim in water.
While this model was designed a few years ago now, it still remains as one of my favourite models that I have built.
This model contains 277 pieces.

October 2018: Found this in one of Dad's old photo albums. I'd never seen it before; according to Dad's note it was taken at Christmas 1982.

I was laid up for a couple of days last week. Nothing serious. Time to build another Lego Technics. Also X100 needed a run.

My son had this LEGO technic car arrive. He set to work on it the moment he got home from school, pausing only for dinner, then back into it until 9:30, when he went to bed. He was up again by 6, and this was where he was at half an hour later when I got up.

One shot of the classroom where I was later to give a short presentation on technical communication. Chuck Murray is at the front desk.
Mercury is my first successful Technic creation.
It features a 4-speed transmission based on one of Sariel's designs, independent front and rear suspension, HOG steering, and shock-absorber assisted doors and rear engine cover. The spoiler is operated by a small switch on either side of the car, and can be moved up and down. The car itself is mid-engined with a working V8.
