The 97-key (!!) Beilfuss Step Synthesizer

SunVox is virtual modular music studio. It runs on any common platform and your creations are portable. It's really sofisticated piece of software with scalable and touch optimized UI.

I love this little modular synth.

Took a break from the microKorg for a photo op!

3-The Guilded Age Synthesizer

Custom Moog Modular. I spent the day burning this in. The modules were restored and assembled into this custom configuration by a good friend of mine. It sounds …… well , like a Moog!

"Now and Forever" Composed and performed by David Monte Cristo in Astor Place Manhattan 10/22/2017

Our electronics lab in the basement.

Shot of the patch for "A Distant City", a tune developed on my modular synthesizer.

This patch in action:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FuXcdzr0jg

Both black and white synthesizer keys made from a though plastic. They start around the C note and end around G. In the background there is some wood texture.

On the rear side there is a power switch, MicroUSB connector, USB connector (for any USB hub or peripherals) ...

Inside the Electron Analog Four 4 voice analog synthesizer.

There's a Xilinx Spartan FPGA at the bottom.

www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/data_sheets/ds160.pdf

It's probably what's controlling the parameters for the analog voices, or it's the effects processor. Whatever it's doing, it has a number of lines connected to the analog voices.

Also a cirrus logic codec at the center left. I believe it's aCS42435 variant.

Just to give some perspective on the size of this thing. I am a big dude. 6' 240 lbs. and I feel small in front of it!

This machine synthesizes sound. Huh???

Made in 1875.

You may not understand what these machines do, but it doesn't make them less interesting.
