The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (350D) uses this switch to tell it that an external flash unit is mounted. If the switch is depressed, the camera will not pop up the onboard flash and will not fire the onboard flash even if it is popped up.
A fair proportion of the wiring of the switch panel for the new tram layout is now done. As soon as I have the time, it will be installed in the layout cabinet and wired to the track.

Mainly the little bump on the side of the sliding shaft needs to be cut away, so sliding the shaft offers no resistance to the motorized tire.
