Wrecked CSX AC4400 #72 arrived at Mid-America Car in Kansas City a few days ago & this morning, I photographed it being switched into the facility by MAC's SW1 #82. Two other wreck-damaged units that came in with it were CEFX AC44 #1026 and CSX GEVO #5348. I'm not sure exactly where the wreck occurred, but it was on the KCS in Louisiana.
Fully Charged Live 2021 (aka Fully Charged Outside) was the latest event to be held at the Farnborough International site in Farnborough, Hants. The three-day event hosted a huge selection of electric vehicles including two PSV products. There was also an internal Park & Ride bus service operating using 8 buses over the course of the event with the addition of an occasional trip to Farnborough (Main) railway station.
I visited on the overcast Saturday and returned on the sunny Sunday. For the record, buses seen were:

A classic NdeM switch lock is still protecting the switch at the junction between the línea FA mainline and the branch to the coastal town of Progreso, which has been abandoned for over 25 years. The rails were removed on the northern part of the line long ago, but a few sections remain mostly intact within Mérida city limits.

The lone Bloomer Highhood switches out Alliance Grain while a switcher is tied onto a couple grain cars.
A bank of elevator switches and relays sits decaying in a mechanical room high atop the abandoned Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells, Texas. The object creeping into the top-right corner of the image is the steel spiral staircase which leads up to the bell tower, the highest point in the old hotel.

CNW RS-3 1554 has finished its work for the day and it is returning from the Winona Levee to the CNW Yard in Winona, MN. It is about to pass under the CNW mainline bridge. Mike E. Crowe ventured up onto the steel bridge that crosses the switching lead to take the photo. By this time, the CNW trackage up the embankment and across the Mississippi River was largely out of use. Taken Feb 2, 1977.

A new arrival to the Waterloo switch engine mix is CN4903 which appeared in the past few weeks. Here she is coming back from switching Hydrite This approximately one mile long spur is the old Waterloo RR, which was originally the WCF&N trolley line to Denver, IA and onward to the end of the line in Waverly, Iowa. The line is now terminated at Alter steel on the North side of Airline Hwy.
I couldn't tell what model this switcher is but it serves the Cargill grain elevator complex in Gilman, Illinois, adjacent to the Chicago Subdivision of Canadian National.

BNSF's Longmont Switch is northbound on the Front Range Sub at Highland a little after 10am on 10-6-14. BNSF 1789 in Cascade Green leads NREX 5962 in UP WWD Yellow and H1 BNSF 1978. Dead in trail behind those three are OMLX 9522 and 9647, former CN GP40-2's destined for the Great Western Railway at Loveland. This photo has been slightly cropped.

IAIS 716 switches cars of cattle feed at a small yard in Council Bluffs. The cars are loaded at elevators in Iowa and sent to Texas via the BNSF.

Finally got around to painting this boy. Tan resin is difficult to photograph in natural light, but he is a really nice color!
USS SW9 1248 switches the Granite City works in Granite City, IL. With this plant coming in and out of closure within the past few years, it was nice to catch this out in the open before it reversed back into the mill.

An old, weathered outdoor switch box on a brick wall.
Ever since I can remember I have photographed odd bits of detritus like this — old fences, door handles and hinges, electrical boxes, anything that has the worn patina of age, rust, and weathering. The first time I recall doing this I must have been in middle school or early high school — I went around the back side of my parents’ house and found an old wooden fence with a chain lock, made photographs, and then black and white prints.
On the day I made this photograph we were at the location of a very large garden, with the plan being to photograph spring flowers and foliage. We certainly did that, but I’m easily distracted by things like this, and I came back with this photograph along with others of old signs, door knobs, windows, and similar non-garden stuff.
