Matt stands in front of the church building. He sighs as he begins his way inside.

"Matt, good to see you again."

Matt's attention is drawn to the source of the voice. The priest.

"Just went to send a letter to my friend. He's over in India. Lovely work he's doing over there."

"Father, can we talk?"

"You want to go inside?"

"No. We don't need to."

"Alright, what do you want to talk about?"

Matt tries to open his mouth to utter the words he wants to, but can't seem to do so.

"Are you sure you don't want to go inside?"

"I'm sure. It's just... I've lost to many people in my life... My dad, a friend, a... a good friend..."

"You can't blame yourself for them."

"But it's all my fault. My dad died because he neede... wanted to support me. My friend, Melvin died because I drew to much unwanted attention to him. Elektra died because... because we loved each other... She stayed in Hell's Kitchen because I wanted her to. She wasn't supposed to and she died."

"Y'know, I knew your Father. He was a wild man, but he loved you. He thought so many times of putting you into a foster home. Just so you could have a good life. After your accident, he broke down. He knocked on my door and just burst into tears. He said 'I gotta fight! I gotta fight for my son!' The next week was when he died. Y'see, he was so focused on caring for you, he didn't think of himself. That's love, Matt. He did it because he loved you."

"But I still lost Melvin and Elektra because of my selfish wants."

The priest shakes his head and scratches the back of his head.

"Matt, you remember the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Well they were willing to die for what they believed in. They were willing. They weren't forced. I believe if you love something, you'll do whatever you need to do for that thing or person. Even if it means dying. Melvin, Elektra, and you're Father loved you. They died because they loved you, not because you made them die."

Matt begins to cry. He wipes away the tears and hugs and the priest. The priest shocked by what I'd happening slowly wraps his arms around Matt.

"So, the question is. Are you willing to die for what you believe in? Are you willing to die for the cause of making this city a better place?"

"Yes... yes I am. For them."

The priest let's go of Matt and smiles to him.

"Then wipe your tears away and go out there and fight. Never give up until you accomplish just that..."

Bit of a downer today as size and perspective were giving me a serious headache. Whole thing will need to be wider, will need more tech support for the fins and the guns need to be tinified.. fresh start soon. For now, enjoy the smaller sized drones.. 2 x light MKI's and 1 MKII sniper :)

Most of the houses on Officers' Row require support like this. GAF Memo 35EE, Ferrania P30, Rodinal 1:50.

The Queensferry Crossing opened to traffic on 30 August 2017. This forms the centrepiece of a major upgrade to the cross-Forth transport corridor in the east of Scotland, representing a total Scottish Government investment of over £1.3 billion.

The 1.7 miles (2.7km) structure is the longest three-tower, cable-stayed bridge in the world and also by far the largest to feature cables which cross mid-span. This innovative design provides extra strength and stiffness, allowing the towers and the deck to be more slender and elegant.

Small Business Saturday, Shopping Small and supporting Local in Baker City, Oregon

One of the best ways to experience a community is by visiting the locally owned independent businesses that reflect the unique and local character of the community. This weekend was a great start to what is definitely a different Christmas season. With lots of COVID precautions in place it was great to see so many folks out spreading holiday cheer and supporting local this weekend for black Friday and Small Business Saturday in Downtown Baker City

The small towns of Baker County offer a cornucopia of local and independent small businesses, many featuring locally crafted products that are made in, and in some cases can only be found in Baker County.

Baker City's historic downtown is one of the largest intact turn of the 20th century historic districts in the American West with over 100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. today the downtown has been lovingly restored and the historic district is now a thriving downtown home to numerous art galleries, restaurants, micro breweries and local independently owned shops, making it the perfect destination for celebrating the holidays and shopping small unique businesses.

F.S.G., or Fūjin Support Gunship (named after the japanese wind god) specialises in air-to-ground support, hence it's VTOL form. Equipped with two anti-infantry repeaters and anti-armour missile silos, the F.S.G. is capable of destroying all, but is surprisingly feeble in air-to-air combat.

The sun was slowly setting, hiding behind the clouds. The last rays of sun illuminated the stones in the foreground, heating up the whole scene.

A few moments later, clouds began to turn red as a strong burst of light.

This shot was made with a combination of four photos made with a focus stacking method and a bracketing exposure.

I am quite fussy about scale, but with a reason; I like to be able to put different vehicles together. That is fairly easy to pull of on a fairly large scale. At this scale, not so much. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, though.

Multi-span bridges are structures of two or more arches supported on piers. They were constructed throughout the medieval period for the use of pedestrians and packhorse or vehicular traffic, crossing rivers or streams, often replacing or supplementing earlier fords.

During the early medieval period timber was used, but from the 12th century stone (and later brick) bridges became more common, with the piers sometimes supported by a timber raft. Most stone or brick bridges were constructed with pointed arches, although semicircular and segmental examples are also known. A common medieval feature is the presence of stone ashlar ribs underneath the arch. The bridge abutments and revetting of the river banks also form part of the bridge. Where medieval bridges have been altered in later centuries, original features are sometimes concealed behind later stonework, including remains of earlier timber bridges. The roadway was often originally cobbled or gravelled. The building and maintenance of bridges was frequently carried out by the church and by guilds, although landowners were also required to maintain bridges. From the mid-13th century the right to collect tolls, known as pontage, was granted to many bridges, usually for repairs; for this purpose many urban bridges had houses or chapels on them, and some were fortified with a defensive gateway. Medieval multi-span bridges must have been numerous throughout England, but most have been rebuilt or replaced and less than 200 examples are now known to survive. As a rare monument type largely unaltered, surviving examples and examples that retain significant medieval and post-medieval fabric are considered to be of national importance.

Despite some later alterations and repair work, Aylesford Bridge is a well preserved medieval multi-span bridge. It is a good example of its type and will retain evidence relating to medieval bridge construction and masonry techniques. Deposits buried underneath the bridge will preserve valuable artefactual, ecofactual and environmental evidence, providing information about the human and natural history of the site prior to the construction of the bridge.

This record was the subject of a minor enhancement on 15 December 2014. The record has been generated from an "old county number" (OCN) scheduling record. These are monuments that were not reviewed under the Monuments Protection Programme and are some of our oldest designation records.

The monument includes a medieval multi-span bridge situated over the River Medway at Aylesford.

Aylesford Bridge is constructed of Kentish ragstone with seven arches including a central segmental arch and six pointed and double-chamfered outer arches. The bridge is about 4m wide between the centres of the stone-coped parapet. The end arches are partly buried by the river bank. The stone piers have cutwaters on the upstream and downstream sides on rebuilt concrete foundations. On each side are octagonal and triangular canted pedestrian refuges resting on buttresses over the piers. Below the bridge is a barge-bed constructed from large baulks of timber.

Aylesford Bridge is thought to have been constructed in about the 14th century, and is situated downstream from the probable site of an earlier ford. A grant of pontage was issued in 1331, although it is possible that this relates to a timber predecessor. In about 1824, the two centre arches were replaced by a single arch of 18m span, removing a pier to allow passage for larger river traffic.

Aylesford Bridge is Grade I listed.
