I am quite fussy about scale, but with a reason; I like to be able to put different vehicles together. That is fairly easy to pull of on a fairly large scale. At this scale, not so much. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, though.

Of tree supports that is, there is a lot of small flies caught in the web so I suppose it makes a good larder!
The wooden poles are tree supports for the orchard I saw this in.

Bought a mixed bouquet, saw just the tips of the yellow Irises, to my amazement, the center turned out blue, not see that before, thus photo-session with my new elegant models.
I don't talk to flowers, they talk to me and I gladly listen!
About ELEGANCE:
The French aviator, adventurer and author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, probably best known for his classic children's book The Little Prince, was also an aircraft designer.
He gave us perhaps the best definition of engineering elegance when he said
“A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.”
This one wanted to prove to me that yes, the darkest months of the year are over, the days are getting noticeably longer... I AM coming into the light, out of the dark... look I AM unfurling all my beauty for you...and dance.

A sign of the times. No-one is safe ANYWHERE these days. Still, it was re-assuring to see some sort of armed rapid response unit was to hand.
I think the vehicle is an Audi Q7.

Excerpt from www.amo.gov.hk:
The old Lei Yue Mun Barracks was one of the earliest and most important British Army fortifications in Hong Kong. Situated at the northeast corner of Hong Kong Island overlooking the eastern approach to the Victoria Harbour, Lei Yue Mun occupied a strategic position. In 1885, the military decided to construct a permanent infrastructure at Lei Yue Mun. In 1889, land was transferred to the War Department for constructing barracks at Lei Yue Mun. The Barracks consisted of the central area (main barracks), the western ridge (upper fort) and the headland (lower fort). The main barracks, built at different times from 1890 to 1939, mainly served as offices and married quarters for the British Army. By the 1890s, the fortifications at Lei Yue Mun had fully become an important point of coastal defence and continued to expand in the following decades.
By the 1930s, the strategic importance of Lei Yue Mun had declined considerably as a result of technological and tactical advances. On 19 December 1941, the Barracks fell to the hands of the Japanese in the Battle of Hong Kong. In the post-war period, the Barracks was used by the British Army as a training ground until 1987, after which the Barracks was returned to the Hong Kong Government for civil use. The central area and the western ridge have become the Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village since 1988, whereas the military installations at the headland were restored to form the Museum of Coastal Defence which was opened in 2000.
Block 7 was built in 1890 to 1895 at the north end of the Barracks on top of a prestigious hill overlooking the Lei Yue Mun Pass. It is believed to be one of the earliest buildings constructed in the first phase of the barracks development. It was originally built as officers quarters for the Royal Artillery. In the post-war period, it has been used by the Hong Kong Military Service Corps (“HKMSC”) as a training centre.
The architectural style of Block 7 is “Colonial Vernacular”, which featured the characteristic wide open verandahs on three sides, a raised ground floor and a central “Jack-Roof”. The building is rectangular in plan, of single-storey brick construction and set on low segmental arches. Two ornamental brick and granite chimney stacks still exist. External architectural features include simple square Tuscan order columns which support the verandah roofs. The main entrance doorway has a segmental arch and central keystone. Some Classical plaster mouldings to the ceiling cornices still remain.

The support for our launch was outstanding, and I want to thank each of you for the #GoodLuckTim messages. From the schoolchildren who watched the launch in class, people watching on the underground, and viewers outside of UK, your messages have shown how much interest there is in space and they mean a great deal to me. A big thank you to those who attended launch celebrations up and down the country and especially the school kids who attended the event at the Science Museum. We are very busy up here but I promise to start sharing more of our life in space soon.

Holiday Cooking
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope you are all well and spending some time with your loved ones, If that wasn't possible then I wish you the best thanksgiving possible regardless of your circumstances, and if you don't celebrate the holiday then I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday. For me, it's typical to get together every year with family, usually a small gathering. I am not much of a cooker but this year I took the opportunity to take a shot at cooking the Turkey.
This took a lot longer than I expected and it wasn't as easy as tossing the bird in the oven and coming back in an hour and presto, the turkey is ready to serve. It took a lot of preparation work and several hours to cook but in the end, it came out golden and looking delicious.
I am excited for you to try it, will you have a taste, please?
How is it?
Cocina festiva

The Boeing B-52 Stratofortress is a long-range, subsonic, jet-powered strategic bomber. It was designed and built by Boeing, which has continued to provide support and upgrades. It has been operated by the US Air Force (USAF) since the 1950s. The bomber is capable of carrying up to 32,000 kg of weapons, and has a typical combat range of more than 14,000 km without aerial refueling.
Beginning with the successful contract bid in June 1946, the B-52 design evolved from a straight-wing aircraft powered by six turboprop engines to the final prototype YB-52 with eight turbojet engines and swept wings. The B-52 took its maiden flight in April 1952. Built to carry nuclear weapons for Cold War-era deterrence missions, the B-52 Stratofortress is a veteran of several wars, but has only dropped conventional munitions in combat. The B-52's official name Stratofortress is rarely used; informally, the aircraft has become commonly referred to as the BUFF (Big Ugly Fat Fucker).
The B-52 has been in active service with the USAF since 1955. As of 2012, 85 were in active service with nine in reserve. The bombers flew under the Strategic Air Command (SAC) until it was disestablished in 1992 and its aircraft absorbed into the Air Combat Command (ACC); in 2010 all B-52 Stratofortresses were transferred from the ACC to the newly-created Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC).
Superior performance at high subsonic speeds and relatively low operating costs have kept the B-52 in service despite the advent of later, more advanced aircraft, including the variable-geometry B-1 Lancer, and the stealth B-2 Spirit. The B-52 completed 60 years of continuous service with its original operator in 2015. After being upgraded between 2013 and 2015, it is expected to serve into the 2040s.
The B-52G was proposed to extend the B-52's service life during delays in the B-58 Hustler programme. At first, a radical redesign was envisioned with a completely new wing and Pratt & Whitney J75 engines. This was rejected to avoid slowdowns in production, although a large number of changes were implemented. The most significant of these was the brand-new "wet" wing with integral fuel tanks which considerably increased the fuel capacity; gross aircraft weight went up by 17,235 kg compared with prior variants. In addition, a pair of 2,650 litre external fuel tanks were fitted under the wings. In this model, the traditional ailerons were eliminated. Instead, spoilers provided roll control. The tail fin was shortened by 2.4m, water injection system capacity was increased to 4,540 itres and the nose radome was enlarged. The tail gunner manning the four .50 calibre machine-guns (quad mounted in a remote-controlled tail turret) was relocated to the main cockpit and was provided with an ejection seat. Dubbed the "Battle Station" concept, the offensive crew (pilot and co-pilot on the upper deck and the two bombing navigation system operators on the lower deck) faced forward, while the defensive crew (tail gunner and ECM operator) on the upper deck faced aft.
The B-52G entered service on 13 February 1959 (a day earlier, the last B-36 was retired, making SAC an all-jet bomber force). 193 B-52Gs were produced, making this the most produced B-52 variant. Most B-52Gs were destroyed in compliance with the 1992 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty; the last B-52G was dismantled under New START treaty requirements in December 2013. A few examples remain on display for museums.
This example, 59-2601, was seen at the what was then simply the International Air Tattoo (no Royal appellation in those days!) at RAF Greenham Common in 1983. It avoided dismantlement and is now part of the Tactical Air Command's Memorial Park at Langley AFB, Virginia.
