Largo di Torre Argentina is a square in Rome, Italy, that hosts four Republican Roman temples, and the remains of Pompey's Theatre. It is located in the ancient Campus Martius.
The name of the square comes from the Torre Argentina, which takes its name from the city of Strasbourg, whose Latin name was Argentoratum. In 1503, in fact, the Papal Master of Ceremonies Johannes Burckardt from Strasbourg built in via del Sudario a palace (now at number 44), called Casa del Burcardo, to which the tower is annexed.
The other tower in the square is not the one giving the name to the place, but the Medieval Torre del Papitto ("Little Pope's Tower"), attributed by tradition to Antipope Anacletus II Pierleoni, allegedly not a tall person.

After Italian unification, it was decided to reconstruct part of Rome (1909), demolishing the zone of Torre Argentina. During the works (1927), however, the colossal head and arms of a marble statue were discovered. The archeological investigation brought to light the presence of a holy area, dating to the Republican era, with four temples and part of Pompey's Theater.
Julius Caesar was killed in the Curia of the Theatre of Pompey, and the spot he was believed to be assassinated is in the square.

Soldiers and Airmen from the Virginia National Guard's Fort Pickett-based 34th Civil Support Team conduct a field training exercise Nov. 18, 2014, at the Port of Richmond in Richmond, Va., to prepare for an external evaluation scheduled for June 2015. The 34th CST is externally evaluated every 18 months to validate they are able to effectively execute their mission of providing support to first responders in potential biological, chemical, nuclear, radiological and explosive incidents. They earned a “T” for trained rating on 12 collective tasks and an overall assessment rating of “Fully Mission Capable” following a Training Proficiency Evaluation proctored by U.S. Army North’s Civil Support Readiness Group-East Dec. 3 and 5, 2013. Observer controller / trainers from U.S. Army North were on hand for the FTX at the port to assist with the creation of a realistic scenario and provide feedback on the exercise to help leaders plan their training for the next six months to prepare for the evaluation in 2015. Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples and Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia, in collaboration with the Evangelical Alliance in the Department of Religious Assistance from the General Staff, Ministry of Defense, Bucharest conducted Operation Helping Hands for the Holidays, a gift-giving event, in Bucharest, Romania on Monday, December 15.
“We are reaching out to the community and asking our Sailors to donate and volunteer and connect with them. It affects both communities in positive ways,” explained NSA Naples Command Chaplain Cmdr. Manuel A. Biadog, one of the organizers.
The event in Romania is one of the five organized this year, the other four taking place in Italy. Each box contained small toys, school supplies, and other useful items for the children.

His one wish was to get back up to where he had come from, to see his family and birthplace one last time. With crucial support and information from Macmillan nurses he was able to get help and grants. I will never forget the smile he had on his face when we got to the very house he had been born in at Latheronwheel, Scotland. Even though it was a tragic time, to me this photograph is nothing but happiness. Gifts in wills don't just help to buy medical support, they also help to create everlasting memories for loved ones and fulfil the wishes of those who have cancer.”

PT&P fabricated these special designed Split-T pipe shoes using a Figure 50 "two-bolt pipe clamp" for a refining project in Saudi Arabia. The pipe shoes are 4" height x 15.5" wide x 18" long and were fabricated from A36 carbon steel with a hot-dipped galvanized finish. They are designed for a pipe size of 14" with an operating temperature from -29°C to 316°C. The pipe shoes are capable of supporting an operating load of 34,000 lb.
Etchingham Supporting Ukraine - - - Following the request to the world from President Zelensky, Etchingham decided to show its solidarity with Ukraine. People gathered in the Queen’s Garden under the Ukrainian flag for a minute of silence thinking of those who have died, are injured, or are fleeing for their lives to foreign lands.
There was then a minute of applause in honour of those who are fighting to uphold the status of Ukraine as an independent nation. As we stood there in the sunshine of an English spring day,

Veteran and Tuskegee Airman, Charles McGee, celebrates his 99th birthday in style. Vincent Mickens of the National Business Aviation Association and Glenn Gonzales, Chief Pilot and CEO of Jet It decided that they wanted to do something special to celebrate Colonel McGee's birthday--by taking him up for a flight in a HA-420 HondaJet.
With McGee turning 99 years young, one would think that he'd be slowing down a bit and taking things easy. But as documented in these photos, you'll notice that Colonel McGee is very much active and not missing a beat!
I was fortunate enough to have been a part of this experience so I saw it as my duty to share these images with the world. To Colonel McGee--thank you for your service to this country, your hospitality, and for the safe and relaxing flight in a HondaJet!

ORLANDO, Fla. - Four Soldiers from the 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) rolled onto the green grass at Orlando’s Blue Jacket Park in two Humvees to support hundreds of racers, organizers, veterans and volunteers participating in the 9th Annual Wounded Warfighter Lone Sailor 5K/10K April 14, 2018.
Hosted by the Central Florida Council of the United States Navy League, the race featured more than 600 runners, walkers and rollers who, together with more than a dozen corporate sponsors and non-profit partners, raised approximately $54,000 for the Camaraderie Foundation.
Dedicated to saving lives, families and marriages for service members and veterans, the Camaraderie Foundation offers counseling programs designed to heal the invisible wounds of war.
The race took place in conjunction with a dedication ceremony of the Blue Jacket Recruit, a statue of a female recruit standing for inspection on her day of graduation from Navy Boot Camp. Designed by J. Don Reynolds, a world renowned sculptor who once served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown, the heroic scale statue commemorates 188,000 women who began their naval careers at Orlando Recruit Training Center from 1968-1994. The statue stands next a Lone Sailor statue that signifies Central Florida’s rich military heritage and America’s gender integration in its armed forces.
The ceremony featured several distinguished guests to include Carla Hoskins, a graduate of Orlando RTC, Jennifer Thompson, vice mayor of Orange County, and Stephanie Murphy, U.S. congresswoman for Florida’s 7th District. The 143d ESC Soldiers joined them and hundreds others in attendance in expressing their respect for more than 650,000 men and women who marched on this hallowed ground.

Fire Associates of The Santa Clara Valley (FASCV) is a volunteer organization supporting all fire departments in the Santa Clara County. They operate four Rehab units that respond to multi alarm incidents anywhere in the County and surrounding areas.
This year they were pleased to introduced a brand new Fire Support Unit 2, replacing their old unit. The FASCV is also celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.
Here the new Fire Support Unit is on display at Santa Clara Fire Station 2 as firefighters check out the new rig.
