Not a real sunset yet, but the colors were beautiful this evening. Also what a view from our terrace. Sitting here every early morning and evening for a week was a real joy🌞
Sunset on the Ayrshire coast looking towards the Isle of Arran.
A bit of a change for me on this evening. I left my camera bag and tripod in the car and shot all the nights sunset images on just the 40mm f2 nikon lens.
It was an interesting exercise, not having a tripod to slow me down and made me tryout a lot more compositions.
Also being constrained with the fixed focal length lens meant I had to move around a bit more instead of just using the zoom on the lens.
Just about caught the sun setting behind the cliff tops at Little Haven in Pembrokeshire, Wales a week ago. The plan was to take long exposures of the rocks/sea. But i made a rookie mistake and forgot to actually check the tide times!
The several weeks long sunset here at South Pole is incredible. It produces some very nice soft light. Just like a dream. The building is the IceCube Lab.
Tonight's sunset, as a helicopter comes in to land at Battersea Heliport.
The newly refurbished Wandsworth Bridge is seen here spanning

Four years ago on this day, I lived out a long-time dream of mine and summitted Silvertip Mtn. in Montana's Bob Marshall Wilderness. The previous day we arrived at this site and set up camp in the middle of a rain storm. After the clouds had rained themselves out, a glorious sunset appeared for a few minutes, giving me just enough time to grab a few photos. Here's my favourite!
Certainly starting to feel like winter now, but isn't this just the best time of year for sunsets? (Still to early for sunrises tho!)
