Came home from work and had no camera on me (again). I had promised myself to carry a proper camera with me. And where was it? At home. Took the picture with my cellphone. Couldn't resist.
Sunset over Georgian Bay setting behind Blue Mountains.
I often take sunsets, but seldom post them here, thought it was time I did :)

Last night was one of those sunsets where nothing is going on in the wide angle perspective, but there were a few distant lit up clouds to see if you zoomed in all the way. This seems to be a water tower up on a hill above Horn Pond.
I had been hoping to do a sunset timelapse but it was just as well there wasn't anything to see, because I discovered that there aren't really any good spots along horn pond's southeast edge from which to shoot a timelapse - too many plants and reeds in the way. The wind was also way too strong to bother trying to set up my little lightweight plastic tripods. Next time a sunset looks promising maybe I'll try for the Jamaica pond boathouse instead.
Sunset at a small lake near Å, in the Lofoten, Northern Norway. Taken during my 2000 km road trip from Tromsø to Oslo last summer, which I finally wrote a blog about: blog.hanneketravels.net/2015/12/tromso-to-oslo-a-2000-km-...

A really beautiful sunset last July. With all that has happen in our World last year, this was a great rays of sunshine.
Sunset witnesses gather each night,
To watch the sky in its fading light.
They see the day bow out with grace,
As dusk paints the world in a warm embrace.
Lastnights fantastic sunset. This is the view looking north from Rocky Island at Seaton Sluice towards Blyth.

We had a spectacular sunset last night after the storm passed. We had 8 1/2 inches of rain here in NE Texas over the last 3-4 days and it was starting to clear. Luckily all the really severe weather went well north and east of us. My heart goes out to all those in Nebraska and Oklahoma who are suffering from the disaster of the tornadoes caused by this same storm.
