I have spent the weekend out west near Chinchilla with a very dear friend. Boy did we have a great time. We met a lovely farmer named Leon who very kindly allowed us to photograph the sunset from his farm. He was very patient with us "city Slickers", told us this was called a central pivot irrigation system. With the cotton season just finished he was in the early stages of growing lucerne. We stayed on until late trying our hand for the first time with star trails but it wasn't really successful as it was a full moon. It was absolutely FREEZING but we had fun anyway and thats the most important thing right?

For generations, sycamore trees that line the pathway into Platán Strand, Balatonboglár’s free waterfront park on Lake Balaton’s southern shore in western Hungary have been a landmark. In the heat of the day, they provide shade to midday bathers. Later in the day, they provide visual stimulation for photographers. I took this photo on the one evening of six when I gave photography priority over the pleasures of cooling off in the water during a heat wave.

''Ladies & Gentlemen; this your Captain speaking. The plane successfully missed the thunderstorm in a manoeuvre that Toronto Tower recommended for safety, on a 15 minute fly around that took us over Lake Superior & Thunder Bay and back to Toronto. If you look out your left windows, we have just touched down, but I just needed you to witness that awesome sunset under the storm front, and Thank-you for flying WestJet.
