Summer sunset from cliffs above Secret Cove, one of a series of beaches located along remote east shore of Lake Tahoe, on the Nevada side of the lake.
At a surface elevation of 6,225 ft (1,897 m), Lake Tahoe is located in the Sierra Nevada mountains along the border between California and Nevada. Lake Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America.
It is a while since I have had the chance to photograph a decent sunset and I was determined to capture at least one while I was holidaying in Sardinia. This evening didn't disappoint though I did have to rush my dinner to get down to the beach. La Marinedda beach is on the North Western edge of the island in an area where the geography is defined by granite rock formations.

A spectacularly beautiful sunset in Norfolk. Watching the sky transform as the sun set to reveal a vibrant red sky was a magical moment. You don’t often get stunning sunsets like this in England.
Just a quick upload before work as I woke up earlier than I intended to and could not get back to sleep; here is a portion (not cropped or reduced from a larger image, just zoomed in more on one section of horizon rather than the sky as a whole) of the fiery, intense twilight sky last Friday night, when I knew there would be intense atmospherics due to the fact that the weather spent the entire day shifting between drizzly overcast to bright, hot sunshine!

Happy Windmill Wednesday - taken a few weeks ago - a pale rose sky provided a nice opportune. I have been lax in my weekly posting of wind pumps - but catching up. HWW
Taransay is a small island off the west coast of south Harris. It was one of several remote islands we recently visited on a 2wk sailing voyage round the Hebrides on my friend Eddie's yacht Boomerang. It came to prominence as the location for the BBC's 'Castaway 2000' series. It is a wonderful, peaceful spot with ruined sheilings, forgotten lazy-beds and wild deer. There was a large whale bone washed up on the beach when we were there and the only footprints in the sand were from an otter. However the midgies were terrible!

The surprise is that it was hand-held at 1/30 - must remember tripod and wife when going for sunset walks.
Some days I find it really hard to get a shot I'm happy with for my 365. Other days I have more than one to choose from! Today was one of those days where I couldn't decide which one to put in my 365. As it's my sister's 50th birthday today, she had to go in my 365 but this evening a storm came over at dusk - we had a double rainbow and an impressive stormy sunset so I couldn't resist popping out again and getting a few more shots! This one is sooc except for slight crop and watermark.
