Caught this the other day. Tried to time till just after sunset since I don't have the luxury of a polarizing filter like on my Nikon.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - Vedauwoo is a scenic spot filled with interesting rocky outcrops, located in between Cheyenne and Laramie. The area is popular with climbers. I climbed up near the top of Turtle Rock to shoot the sunset.
Nikon camera is really best. I shoot this sunset in high speed boat. The result is so amazing. I think because of my cam...^_^

Gettysburg National Battlefield, Pennsylvania. Sunset taken with Canon 70d with a filter. Gettysburg was an American Civil War that lasted 3 days in July of 1863. It was North (Union) victory over the South (Confederacy), but both sides suffered a great deal of losses. It one of America's most important battlefields.

Took a trip down memory lane today through my photos from 2011 through to first half of 2012, taken with my trusty Nikon CoolPixL120, the first quality camera I ever bought, basically a bridge between a point and shoot and a DSLR, and the camera that first got me seriously into photography.
I took about 70,000 photos in the year and a bit I used this camera for before I purchased my 60D, and I really pushed it to its limits and got some amazing shots with it!
This shot is from a set I took in early January 2012, from atop Capitol Hill (site of the historic University of Calgary campus here in Calgary), overlooking central and western Calgary; it was a gorgeous Chinook-y winter evening, so there was a nice warm temperature and an incredible, intense sunset!
I think some of the shots I took with my Coolpix equal in quality and composition some of my best shots with the 60D, which proves it is not so much the equipment as it is having the eye to see the shots and being in the right place at the right time!
I would love to know what you guys think about this shot of mine, which is almost 2 years old now!
Cheers, my friends, and I hope you are all off to a great start on this upcoming week!
