After visiting Glenfinnian we drove to Arsaig on the coast and waited for sunset on the beach by the Triagh Golf Club (off the B8008).
The sun sets fast this time of year. For a short time, just after the sun drops behind the hills, the sky brightens. That was the previous shot. Not sure, will have to pay more attention next summer, but I think that happens because of the sun reflecting off of the bright snow in the mountains. Anyway, if we're fortunate for a second time the red follows the brightness as it did this day. This shot was 12 minutes after the previous one.
Sun rays oh sun rays
Never hide behind a cloud,
Sun rays all my days

Give me no raining shower thought,
Nor glimpse of shadows I've caught...

The weather had been miserable for several days, and then this day was given to us. A fabulous ending to a fabulous day.

I often go to this beach as it is located just next to the Salins d'Hyères, salt marshes rich in birdlife diversity. The sunsets there are quite breathtaking.
Not only are the sunsets spectacular, but they seem to last longer as well! The more I look at last summer's photos from this place, the more I want to return.

October will have been the month of glorious sunsets and stunning skies that lit up like they rarely do..... this particular evening glowed with the most spectacular orange.
