After visiting Glenfinnian we drove to Arsaig on the coast and waited for sunset on the beach by the Triagh Golf Club (off the B8008).
Taken last night. I went out shooting with a friend after work. Not a lot close by, so we went out looking for wildlife. I was able to watch a great sunset. Instagram: @briannicklaus/

When I saw this scene shortly before sunset it looked like mist. I knew it couldn't be, it's light filtering through the foliage and the nature of the sandy terrain that creates the effect which is emphasised by a bit of lens flare and the 3 exposure blend required to deal with the contrast. My workflow always starts with Topaz Denoise then Topaz Clarity. This lucky shot did not need much of either, and was done.

The weather had been miserable for several days, and then this day was given to us. A fabulous ending to a fabulous day.

I often go to this beach as it is located just next to the Salins d'Hyères, salt marshes rich in birdlife diversity. The sunsets there are quite breathtaking.
Not only are the sunsets spectacular, but they seem to last longer as well! The more I look at last summer's photos from this place, the more I want to return.

October will have been the month of glorious sunsets and stunning skies that lit up like they rarely do..... this particular evening glowed with the most spectacular orange.
