For our anniversary, we dined at the Oasis Restaurant in Austin, Texas. Fortunately we had a warm evening to enjoy front row seats of an awesome sunset.

Highway to heaven

Another HDR photo attempt from a trip to Crater Lake last fall. I was simply amazed at the colors and subtle variations of contrast in the wispy clouds during the sunset. I tried to capture their nuances by HDR’ing a shot (actually a series of four shots), but it is still lacking in the “feel” of that awesome sky… but then they do say that only God can make a sunset :)

Wir waren so versunken ins fotografieren, dass wir das steigende Wasser gar nicht richtig mitbekamen... und eine Weile später feststellen mussten, dass wir nicht mehr trockenen Fußes ans Ufer kamen

also hieß es Schuhe u Socken aus, Hosen bis übers Knie hochkrempeln und rein ins kalte Nordseewasser... brrr...

after a while we had to realized that we can`t reach dry-shod the shore.. so we must undressed the shoes and socks and go through the cold, cold water... brrr...

An Arizona Sunset That Was

Taken back in the summer of 2009. There were so many mosquitoes this evening. I had itchy bites all over my face arms and legs but I could not leave this great light behind :)

Just another amazing Florida sunset after a stormy afternoon.

Taransay is a small island off the west coast of south Harris. It was one of several remote islands we recently visited on a 2wk sailing voyage round the Hebrides on my friend Eddie's yacht Boomerang. It came to prominence as the location for the BBC's 'Castaway 2000' series. It is a wonderful, peaceful spot with ruined sheilings, forgotten lazy-beds and wild deer. There was a large whale bone washed up on the beach when we were there and the only footprints in the sand were from an otter. However the midgies were terrible!

Some days I find it really hard to get a shot I'm happy with for my 365. Other days I have more than one to choose from! Today was one of those days where I couldn't decide which one to put in my 365. As it's my sister's 50th birthday today, she had to go in my 365 but this evening a storm came over at dusk - we had a double rainbow and an impressive stormy sunset so I couldn't resist popping out again and getting a few more shots! This one is sooc except for slight crop and watermark.
