This is a blend of two images. One exposed for the sunset, the other for the foreground. My first real go at doing this in PS. I am fairly happy with the result, I shall be improving my selection skills to make things even blend-ier. :)
Sunset over Laguna Madre from South Padre Island. That smoke is from a big controlled burn today on the Bahia Grande unit of Laguna Atascosa NWR.

Great sunset colours the other night here in Weymouth Dorset. Driving home from town on Sunday I saw the sky start to illuminate so I pulled over onto Lodmoor and managed to capture this shot. It was quite a display, this is pretty much as it came out of the camera. Please like my Facebook page if you have a minute thanks :)

Looking SW from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel toward Norfolk City, VA. Pre - "set" portion of sunset was ok, but nothing special. It really lit up after the sun sank. The incandescent lighting(lower left) on the rocks had to be toned down, as it overwhelmed initially, ruining the effect. This is the first time i was there at sunset, though i've crossed cbbt at least 25x.

Not really part of the Outer Banks but almost everyone from our (Philly) area goes over this on their way to the OBX, so i put it in the OBX set.
Photomatix hdr_DetEnh.2981(123) 3exp (-2,0,2ev) with a +1/3ev shift. Cleanup PSE8.
The central exposure was 2.5sec, f6.3, iso100.
This is what the sunset turned into for a few brief moments tonight. Taken hastily from an upstairs window with my compact as no time to change lenses on the DSLR! Fabulous, wonderful colours......You might like to try full screen in Lightroom if you have the time...
