For me anyway~~I envy those that can just put things together on a whim~~everything I've ever done has had a pattern with each piece thought out before starting.

For this one I simply drew a circle on a piece of paper then filled it in with pieces of glass~~a couple of different colors of glass globs thrown in as well.

this coming weekend i have an exhibition starting at beyond the image gallery which will run for a month...for those of you that dip into my photostream fairly regularly, you will know that this tree crops up quite often and indeed it will feature in my exhibition...if you happen to be in my neighourhood, please drop in...

Better then half way foiled up. The copper foil that I'm using here to wrap the pieces comes in various widths and color backings--its self adhesive and comes coiled in a roll like tape. I'm using two different widths on this project depending on the different thickness of the glass~~with the wavy textured Waterglass I'm using for the leaves the glass is thin in places and fatter in others--too thick of a foiled area results in very heavy solder lines and globbed up areas that I'm looking to avoid.

This one got snuck in this week while working on the Buddha kitty. I've been keeping track and this is kitty #140! Its hard to believe there are so many out there.

Measures at 6 inches wide by 5 3/4 inches tall....15cm by 14.5cm.

Kitty #100--this is the crazed look my cat gets when the food dish is empty.

Using Wavy black Waterglass, dense white glass and pink glass for the face along with emerald green glass globs for the eyes.

In the 60's there was a craze for stained glass and stained glass sun catchers. Every home had them. I'm sure there was a Renaissance for stained glass art then and many an artist learned their craft by starting on such simple projects. This bird suncatcher was such a pretty glowing green I picked it out from so many choices. This simple glass bird was a special prize as a gift of the family for whom I babysat when I was about 14. For a week I tended baby Ann Jane at her home. In addition to the welcome pay, Ed Fox let me pick my choice from the scores of suncatchers decorating their home. It was a struggle I still remember, for I was astonished that such a piece of art he had created was being offered to me. I'll never forget struggling to choose from a bright red cardinal of this pattern and this green one. My young mind said "Oh, it must be the red one I want, for the cardinal bird is red!" Yet, I could not turn away from that pretty glowing green. So green it was.

It must be over 60 moves I've made in the years since I was a young teen, but this little suncatcher has traveled with me through all of them. It now has a home with me in the window of my kitchen in Phoenix and continues to brighten my life daily. I look at it every day.

I've used a clear iridescent glass glob for the head, clear iridescent Waterglass for the body and tail and clear iridescent textured glass for the wings. Iridescent glass is fun-it gives off soft hues of of green/pink/yellow. Highly reflective especially at night under artificial light.

The background is a textured cobalt blue glass-kinda sparkly.

We often look for happiness outside of ourselves. We believe that when that something happens everything will be right and good; we wait and wait for that day to come when we'll be happy. All we need to be happy is already within us. We just need to accept the present moment and be one with it. There can be no pain if you are just being - not thinking.

I've been trying to remember this every day (but also not remember because it takes me out of the present- gah!)

All of the wildflowers are blooming on the green hills and everything is lovely.

Here kitty, kitty. This little kitty cat suncatcher measures 4 3/4" tall by 5" wide (12cm by nearly 13cm). Made with gray, white and pink opal glass along with blue glass globs for the eyes with hand painted pupils.

I found the bare winter trees under sunset a pretty interesting subject to shoot at

I've done this one once before in golden ambers, I like the contrast with grey and white much better.

Kitty #99--using pale gray, white and pink glass along with pale aqua blue glass globs for the eyes.

Little thrifted bits.

Using three different textures of clear glass along with two textures of red stained glass along with one smooth round glass jewel and four smooth teardrop shaped jewels, this round suncatcher measures 13 1/4 inches diameter, 33.5cm.

Two blue glass globs and blue stained glass along with textured iridescent glass make up the dragonfly.

This is my entry for the March cane challange. It is a CD that has been covered with cane slices in every color of the rainbow. It was made into a suncatcher by drilling a hole in the top and adding jewelers wire and a few Swarovski crystals.

Sometimes plastic can look like glass! (Moderators: This entire suncatcher is 3" across, so this photo is less than 3" of it!) :)

They call this a "suncatcher". I guess it beats "glass ornament cut in a way to reflect sunlight and project the colours of the rainbow all around it" :)

I made this photo on a very cold day when the sun was filtered through thin clouds and there may not be rainbows and stuff, but I rather liked this effect, too.

Chamam a isto um "suncatcher" (algo como "caçador de sol"). Acho que sempre é melhor do que "enfeite de vidro cortado de forma a refletir a luz solar e projetar as cores do arco-íris em redor" :)

Tirei esta fotografia num dia muito frio em que o Sol estava filtrado por nuvens finas e, pode não ter as cores do arco-íris, mas também gostei deste efeito.

A dragonfly rests on a cattail in this stained glass suncatcher. This original design measures just under 8 inches, 19.5cm.

Two different textures of ruby red stained glass along with textured clear glass were used to create this suncatcher. The center is a clear glass jewel.

This round sun catcher measures 10 1/4 inches diameter~appx 26cm.
