Pine needles frame the sunrise across Iping Common in West Sussex.

The Sun is voracious and ancient. It is content with sustaining our lands with its warmth and light, usually.

Built for Round 2 of the 2019 Bio-Cup. The theme was Disasters and this subtheme was Hot and Dry Meteorological. It got me thinking about heat waves and droughts and how their causes might have been rationalized in the past. People often used animal fables, so perhaps the sun might be characterized as a leech sucking the land dry. Ultimately this build ended up more eldritch than folkloric, but I still think it's an interesting concept!

This, too, is a Valentine's Day trip a few years back. It was such a beautiful day, and surprisingly mild for February. Glad we were able to enjoy the beach for Valentine's! Hope you enjoy as well!

As well as Hever Castle which I posted yesterday, there were a couple of other castles that we visited this weekend.

To the right of this view is the lovely Bodiam Castle. I was busy taking a long exposure shot of it with my Canon set up on a tripod which left me time to step away and take some handheld shots of my immediate surroundings with the Sony. It had just finished raining so the ground was nice and wet, allowing it to glisten slightly.

The weather is turning colder here in the UK, it’ll be a rapid descent into winter I think. Though there is plenty of sunlight in this image it certainly doesn’t evoke a summery feel. Luckily I’m spending most of November in warmer climates with Argentina and Jordan on the agenda.

THE SUN COMES EVERY DAY ...

Like every day we can delight ourselves with a new dawn ... we ourselves can work to be, every day ...

"THE BEST VERSION OF OURSELVES"!

Its only when the sun is out, that its day. Its only when Prabhakaran and I go and get a capture like this, that its Sun-day.

not the close up...

As the Sun goes down reminds me of the wonderful song by Elton John and this video with George Michael is even more poignant. youtu.be/RsKqMNDoR4o
