This is the last shot from Queens Street Studios, you can actually see the bowl from Tuesdays photograph sitting on the window ledge below. I have to say, this is my favourite of the three.
Some new work with a new face (and a new lens!).
Abi and I connected on Instagram and scheduled a photoshoot for yesterday. Abi brought a number of great looks and was a pleasure to work with. This was our first shoot together but we're already planning for a second.
This was also my first photoshoot with my new 24-120 f/4 S Z mount lens. I've been using a prime 50 f/1.4 on my Z6ii for a while now and it's nice to be able to adjust my focal length without moving my feet. I'm not sure if the new lens has the character/look to take over every shoot, but hard to beat it in a studio environment. Looking forward to testing it more in the future.

Joaquin Crespo Manzano, known throughout Cuba as “Bebo”. Born in 1927, Bebo is one of Cuba’s most important engraving artists. His themes include social injustice, political repression, and revolutionary processes. We met with him in his home/studio and he talked of his life in Cuba as an artist. He still works in his studio and some newer works are landscapes in oil. I was utterly charmed by him.
He was an art professor for 60 years and was widely recognized for his art work, particularly his engravings of the atrocities of the Pinochet era in Chile. His oldest son defected to the US in the 1990's. As a result, Bebo was ostracized and no longer allowed to teach. He and his wife, Marta, are hoping their VISA requests will be granted so that they can visit with two sons now living in the US.

Hi-key look. Lighting setup was one strobe shot at white seamless 1.5 stops brighter than main which produced rim light back onto model, main light was 3 foot octodome above camera and a reflector was used as fill below (which makes a lovely catchlight in the lower part of each eye).
Was a fun shoot with more pics to come :)

1965年，剛出道的横尾忠則結識了時年40的三島由紀夫，兩人不但沒有因為歲數或名氣差距而格格不入，反而結為知交莫逆。當時的三島已是文壇公認的戰後派大文豪，導演完電影「憂囯」，正值生涯的巔峰。反觀横尾還只是個初出茅廬的小夥子，不滿卅歲的他，才正準備在風起雲湧的六Ｏ年代開始大展身手。如眾人所知，命運後來將兩人推向了不同境遇。五年後，三島依循著電影腳本戲劇性地切腹殉道，而横尾則成為即將進軍紐約MOMA的日本普普運動旗手。在某張珍貴的留影裡，横尾穿上學生服帆布鞋，代表著受美式文化洗禮的日本新一代，而三島就如同「憂囯」主角，逕自沉醉在日本傳統的武士道美學中。幕後操刀掌鏡的，不是別人，正是與三島、横尾兩人交好的篠山紀信。這是日本文學、美術、写真界最富爭議性的三大異色鬼才首度交會的歷史瞬間！
