Since the new world order
Played upon our fears
Spreading accusations
Of radical ideas
The brotherhood of wisdom
Strength and dignity
Its rituals and secrets
Remain a mystery
Beneath an ever watchful eye
The angels of the temple fly
Turn the key
Walk through the gate
The great ascent
To reach a higher state
A rite of passage
The final stage
A sacred home
Unlock the door
And lay the cornerstone
A rite of passage
Men of wealth and power
Influence and fame
Philosphers and leaders
All members of the trade
Bound by oath and honor
Like the rose and cross
An enigmatic union
Of esoteric thought
Beneath an ever watchful eye
The angels of the temple fly
Turn the key
Walk through the gate
The great ascent
To reach a higher state
A rite of passage
The final stage
A sacred home
Unlock the door
And lay the cornerstone
A rite of passage
Turn the key
Walk through the gate
The great ascent
To reach a higher state
A rite of passage
The seven stars
The rising sun
A perfect world
A new life has begun
A rite of passage

Had to move just a little to get this little bird against the small blue opening between the bushes.

This is one of the few still lifes I have taken. I like how the rust easily flakes off the long bent spikes.
For all the world our handsome Jackdaw looks as though he had dropped into the studio for a magazine photo-shoot! Smooth blue background., perfect posture., showing his best side and looking good! Actually that's a soft focus ocean in the background and our friend is standing on a post on top of a cliff! but you couldn't help but think he somehow knew he was having his photo taken! One smooth cool dude! dressed to impress!
It has been five years since we visited Alaska. My memories are mostly of a beautifully vast dark land that is often blanketed with copious rain clouds that form dynamic collages on the skyline. But not on this day. On this particular morning the inner passage was alive with the soft light of a lazy summer day.
Somewhere along the inner passage, Alaska
I hadn't been to Memphis since 1991. Why? I've been a lackadaisical traveler over the last ten or so years, that's for sure.
Anyway, that logo is new since my last trip. *Spits* I prefer the old rooster.

The Lookout Studio at the Grand Canyon was designed by Mary Colter and was constructed in 1914. It's purpose was to provide a place for visitors to view the wonders of the Grand Canyon. Constructed of local stone, it blends into the landscape.
Studio 26, Spring is here -- There weren't many signs of Spring around here at the beginning of this assignment, though by now, there's quite a lot of blooming in town. Not much on our slope, & I've relied on the florist (& my light table) for much of my set. I chose this one for its light & delicacy, so evocative of Spring for me..
