Was setting my exposure before taking photos in the kitchen of a friends house. This was a small corner of their living room. Just a grabshot to start closing in om my exposure. I was using a Reflectasol portable umbrella. It mounts to a bracket on camera and syncs with the hot shoe.

Exposure was manual. 1/250th at f6.7.

I always wanted this to happen. My 1/3200 second exposure aligned with one of the pro's strobes. As shot/no mods.

Practising with my 2 Acute heads 1 left 1 right at about 200w.

I wanted to take a photo in front of a window to see what adding the flash could really do. This was my “correctly” exposed photo but it’s not that great since there was a lot of contrast. It’s more exposed for his face and outside the window is really light.

I used a disco strobe light that my old DJ housemate left behind (excellent find!) when he moved out. I experimanted with different shutter speeds and different strobe speeds, and the editing is mostly to contrast to give more definition to the outline.

so i decided to practice my strobism wit maxine, she wouldnt stay still though....so it was very difficult, if anyone can possibly help me out on how to avoid the ridiculous shadows on the left of the photo, please help me out!

my set-up was as followed

580exII set at 24mm zoom and 1/4th about a foot away from subject aiming down on her.

Strobist - diy softbox above left of flower, pretty much undetectable rim light flower right and behind. only used it because I got more flashes for xmas, why not

The colours from Nikon's ViewNX were more accurate than those in adobe camera raw. Anyone have any ideas as to why (especially with this photo) this might be. Im guessing the colour profiles are slightly variable but not sure if theres a way to correct for this.

The flower was red red, not the red with a slightly washed out purple'ish tint.
