Flash moved around subject to mimic Strobist 101 lesson - these "pick shots" are black and white versions
Tried a white poster card to reflect light on a number of shots to create uniform light, otherwise it was just going up and down on power and moving the flash around until things looked interesting
Flash was to the left and slightly behind subject. This one was the lighter of the two similar pick images. Creepy doll is gonna get you. I didnt record what flash settings I went with. I was just going up and down to see results and sometimes I came out with things I liked. Zero constant/ambient light in room - flash only lighting.
This is just one photo.

Just got a new piece of equipment from UPS today, a LumoPro LP120 manual strobe. This will be an optical slave to my 580EX II for portable portrait lighting.
Water droplet macros. Caught with Sigma 150mm f/2.8 macro and a single Vivitar flash, using a piece of foil to bounce the light back.

Had a Photoshop class with Tim Buerger today.
Worked on some of the photos I did in a previous strobe lesson in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. Now it feels like the lesson is complete... from the shooting to the post-production.
I was never a huge fan of flashes and non-natural light but I really like the results of this class... time to practice!

These were a lot of fun to shoot. We used lasers, incense, disco balls, and a strobe flash and just did as much as we could.
I was just being silly here.
