so i decided to practice my strobism wit maxine, she wouldnt stay still though....so it was very difficult, if anyone can possibly help me out on how to avoid the ridiculous shadows on the left of the photo, please help me out!
my set-up was as followed
580exII set at 24mm zoom and 1/4th about a foot away from subject aiming down on her.
Strobes are fun!! We had a fun little photo shoot. Although at the end the comment was, that was a lot of work.
Strobist: One 285 HV to provide fill (camera left). Sun provides key.
Photo shoot last weekend for Bohemia. Downtown San Jose.
Had a Photoshop class with Tim Buerger the other day.
Worked on some of the photos I did in a previous strobe lesson in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. Now it feels like the lesson is complete... from the shooting to the post-production.
I was never a huge fan of flashes and non-natural light but I really like the results of this class... time to practice!

This was shot in full, direct sunlight. I stopped down to f/16 to pull down the ambient and then used a single Cactus triggered strobe at 1/4 power positioned above and slightly behind the flower. I used a coffee shop gobo to limit the spread of light.
Still yet to venture into the art of HDR (Once I can find a way to make it look realistic I'll start doing it professionally).
About 4 Strobes used during this shot. A keen eye can see the locations!
