I've been struggling the past couple of weeks to get my daily shot and leaving it until it's far too late to achieve anything approaching a quality shot. Even the groups that I really used to enjoy such as Macro Monday haven't managed to entice me in to help my post regularly for some reason.
Perhaps with having so many things on the go, I'm just struggling to keep my enthusiasm going at the pace I'm used to. I certainly can't blame lack of equipment compared to when I did my first Project365 as I've got a reasonable array of things I can use to cover most forms of photography.
Perhaps I need to get used to using my strobes more to help light some of the more difficult abstract macros... I'm not sure...

I rented some strobe lights for the holiday and I wanted to play and test them out before Darren got here. Megan came over and sat for me. We did several sittings with lights in different positions, but I think these came out the best from the shoot. Just a bit of photoshop, not too much, just to take away some wrinkles and frown lines, but other than that her skin is really that pale. Oh, and she showed up wearing a black shirt as she was on her way to a party.
We moved on through the city, Scott working through his mental list of tricks and spots and this took us to the cathedral next. Scott had intentions of working out some kind of fakie heel roll up the block, it didn't take long to realise that wasn't going to work. But then just as quick there was a spark of genius and he soon looking at how viable it was to cess up the block and launch over the cobbles below. After a few testers and some hilarious stack he fully committed.

I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.
This one is heroin-chic. Apologies to Alexandre for murdering his makeup for the shot.

Crap, my soul is trying to escape!!!
Using my flash and diffuser again. I wanted to try this outside tonight, but it got too darn cold all of a sudden! Anyhow, trying out the effect of 2nd curtain flash. It turned out pretty well once I put my flash on ETTL instead of Manual!

Flash was camera left, about 3 feet out
Strobist info: one bare sunpak pz40x at 1/4 power zoomed in to 35mm to camera left about three feet away, (slightly behind Noah). One sunpak 2800 1/2 power four feet to camera right (slightly behind Noah).
This is the first shot left with too much shadow over one of the eyes, so I moved the strobe on the right forward to light more of his face and got a much better picture with the second short, (I think).
