I am awestruck by the brolly. Look at all that beautiful diffusion!
I have four kids slumber-partying with me tonight as a b'day present for my friend Susan. Coffee is my friend!

I taught a strobe lesson in Shinjuku, with the help of the talented Youko Sunshine and makeup by Beauty By Alexandre. After we got the makeup on, it went fantastically. Thanks to everyone involved, and especially to David and Tom.
This one is heroin-chic. Apologies to Alexandre for murdering his makeup for the shot.

This is an advancement of my previous shoots in the local nightclub I've been using for its dark area and strobe lights to capture multiple movements and exposures.
Where in the previous shoots i was capturing quick moments, in these shots I've captured moments over a lengthy period. Setting the camera on bulb shutter mode, getting the actors to act out a scene I don't know and getting another person to activate the strobe so the unpredictability of the shot is greatly increased and we get a nice shot made up of moments randomly selected by a number of people.
This is part of my exploration of temporality and capturing moments that normally pass quickly or moments we cannot stop and see the detail in
Any comments and critisisms are really welcome and will help me with my analysis.
Fired a strobe very fast (faster then once a second) and shot a long exposure.
The strobe light was to the top right of the model and a I had 4 foot circular reflector about 3 feet behind him on the left. He was a about 10 feet from a wall which wasn't being lit by the strobe. Between strobe fires the room was 100% black.
The only photoshop was adjusting the colors on the raw image and some sharpening, the overlay was achieved by the lighting.

Messing with the strobes, I like the harshness of the direct strobe right in front of her. Gives the larger than life shadow and eye light.
So during Roomet's time over in the UK for Scoot-Fest he pretty much destroyed everything, apart from this one time. During the tour he learnt front flairs of which we got a dope photo of at ATB skatepark in Swindon. Then it came to the official practice session at Rush skatepark for Scoot-Fest. It all went a bit pair shaped and Roomet ended up pretty much using his face as foot. Thank god he had his helmet on!
