As I'm collaborating with Ruth L quite often, I've started a set, just for shots of her:
Shot this one using two strobes.
One vivitar 285hv camera left , 45 degrees at 1/8 power. One camera right 285hv , 45 degrees at 1/8 power.
there was a ride at the fair that had a strobe light, so i shot the guy who was working the ride and got this one. crazy shit is happening all around us, just press the button ;-)

I've been admiring Dustin Diaz's (http://www.flickr.com/photos/polvero/) work on Flickr and decided to venture into the world of strobist. Bought 3 PocketWizard Plus II, Nikon SB-28, Photek Softlighter II, a Manfrotto light stand, and some adapters for the Sony hotshoe.
Strobist: Nikon SB-28 off umbrella on camera left. Sony HVL56 behind Jimbo. Triggered by PWs.
A booth demonstrating optically triggered studio strobes. It we was a bit of a challenge trying to get the strobes to go off for you with quite a few people triggering them with their cameras at the same time.
I was at home sat and bored during the night, I saw a little toy from my nice. Turned on and start playing with my D40 in a low shutter speed. That is the result...
It wasn't necessary a retouch so it is pretty much straight out the camera.

I pulled out my old work jacket and weapon and decided to have a little fun.....OK, I was bored.
Strobist:
1xAlienBee B1600 at 1/16th power and a 20 degree grid spot to camera left to provide light on subject. 1xSB-800 and Sunpak 433D (in frame) behind subject pointing back at the camera. SB-800 with blue gel and Sunpak 433D with red gel. Both set to 1/8 power.

Main strobe: 32 x 40 Softbox dialed at 1/4 power.
Secondary strobe: behind, with a 24 x 36 softbox at 1/6 power.
Another from the photo shoot with Derek. This time I was trying to use a strobe and long exposure to make the sequence. Unfortunately being indoors didn't help and since I couldn't afford a super nice strobe, I think it didn't turn on and off fast enough to really stop his action. Still came away with some kinda cool shots though, especially for my first time trying this technique.

Vivitar 285HV 1/2 power from top. Two reflectors on both the side of glass table. Triggered using Cactus wireless flash remote.

PS : Purposely overexposed a bit to give highkey effect.

yn 560 II - shot with 2 yn560 II's the flash in photo is @1/128th and the other were at 1/16th i think? should have gone with a longer exposure to let the LEDs on the back burn through but hey. photoshop got rid of a lot of dust, next time i should really just get a cloth. the pillow should have been further back too, too much detail considering its clearly a pillow. A lot easier to notice these things after you haven't looked at an image for a few weeks!
