Couple shoot near Lake Henshaw CA. This is old stuff, it is cold and dreary outside here at home.....waiting for spring.

Strobist info: 430EX bare, camera right...power was around half.

35mm scan. 2003-2007 Ford Econoline E-350. This one has the older strobe lightbar, most of their ambulances now use LED lights. Somehow the Ford Econoline (now known as the E-Series van) continues to exist almost 30 years after its last major redesign in 1992, albeit only as a cutaway or chassis cab. Ford just updated the E-Series chassis cab vans for 2021.

These ants speed run up and down tree trunks. Notice they have enlarged front femurs.

"This ant is Opisthopsis rufithorax Emery, a close relative of the sugar ants (Camponotus). You will note the large eyes on the corners of the head: these ants have excellent vision and will evade an oncoming human by darting around the far side of a tree trunk. You would also have noticed the strange, jerky way these ants progress - they are called 'strobe ants' in some quarters because of this."

Strobe lights seem to make what appear to be multiple frames as more solid objects. If that makes any sense. I'm not thinking too well right now.

Aaron set up a couple of flashes around the room to light up the mold.

Strobe info: Bare YN468 and YN 585 at full power on 9' and 5'

Fun at the Studio, where our students learn how to shot a variety of styles, from Fashion to Products.

At San Miguel Island there were rivers of krill. Here the diver with the BIG STROBE is hovering over a cloud of the small crustaceans. Oh, and I love the stylish pink drysuit.

Shooting hockey on strobes with a 400mm lens. Fun stuff.
