This is my artist statement. I know that it may change over time, artist statements often do. But I feel that no matter what this will always remain true and it is from the heart.

This is a carrier statement that the Lincoln Star (Lincoln, Nebraska) used with its paper boy Steve Sylwester, who delivered a route in Seward, Nebraska, during May 1968. The statement detailed that he had to pay $48.57 to the company for the newspapers he delivered in the previous month.
There isn’t any doubt that #cash #flow #statement #preparation is a beneficial activity. However, remember that the quality of such a #statement is very important.
Statement from Musician, Composer & Recording Artist, Sami Yusuf
Assalamu alaikom,
This morning I was made aware that Awakening Records have released what they claim to be my third album, which they are offering for sale on their website. I realize that this will be welcome news for many people, but my loyal supporters need to know that this album release is NOT taking place with my blessing OR my consent!
The tracks they have chosen to release are ‘work in progress’ and are almost entirely based on stolen mp3 demos that are far from complete and are certainly not of the high standard, lyrically, musically and technically, that I always insist upon. Consequently, for me to hear these incomplete recordings, that only represent a sketch of what I would wish to release for my discerning supporters, is painful beyond description. I therefore wish to make it perfectly clear that an album comprised of any such recordings could only be put on to the market against my wishes and without my specific approval.
I need to explain that, for the past year, I have been in dispute with Awakening Records, the main thrust of my grievances being their total lack of transparency in dealing with me. I have made strenuous efforts to resolve the accumulated issues that I kept turning a blind eye to, all the while maintaining a measured, polite and dignified means of communication, but to no avail.
Personally, I’m able to cope with the aggravation that I’ve had to endure during this past year, but I will NOT tolerate my brothers and sisters and my many loyal supporters being cheated, lied to and made a mockery of. BOYCOTT THEM!! They are unworthy of your support, in addition to which I can’t bear the thought of you shelling out your hard earned cash for music pretending to be my finest work, which it certainly isn’t! Equally unbearable is allowing these people who have abused my trust to profit from selling my music in a form that they know full well is incomplete and which, arguably, doesn’t even belong to them.
Please be patient. I am in the process of completing my album which will be ready in just a few short weeks and which I will make available at the earliest opportunity, but only when it is completed to my total satisfaction and which represents my musical, lyrical and spiritual hopes and aspirations for us all.
One thing that I will do, as a sign of my affection and respect for those many people of every nationality around the world that have supported me over these past years, is work through the night to prepare MY version of Palestine Forever and provide it as a free download on my new website:
God bless you ALL
Sami

Pritika Chowdhry is an installation artist and a Forecast Public Art grant recipient in 2012. Her statement for her AIS submission reads:
Tamas (Darkness): A Record of 1919 is an investigation into the history of the year 1919, from a transnational perspective. It was the year after World War I, and many significant events happened around the world - the Treaty of Versailles was finalized in 1919, Irelandʼs war of independence from the British Empire began in 1919, and the treaties and events of 1919 created the Middle East as we know it today. The project also seeks to highlight the lesser known events that happened in the rest of the world, and posit connections between them. For example, the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre that happened in India, the Race Riots or Red Summer of America, the Anglo-Somali War, the Great Iraqi Revolution, the Egyptian Revolution, the May Revolution in China, the Turkish War of Independence, the Russian Civil War, the Anglo-Afghan War, the Third Battle of Juarez, and others.
The name of the event and a map that locates the city and building in which the event occurred have been enameled and etched on brass spittoons, which are small but decorative containers in which one expectorates spit, phlegm, chewing tobacco, etc. Discarded bodily waste (spit) is made to function as
a metaphor for the events that a nation or a people forget, as if history itself were a cultural waste and was being discarded. www.pritikachowhry.com

I don’t really disagree with this opinion, but I still think that the froth in a beer advertisement is a somewhat weird place to express it.
Last Statement: "Ya'll know I love you, you too Ward. You have been a good friend. You are a good investigator. Doug, I thank you for coming from Michigan. Chris and David, I love you. Thank them for their support Doug. Debra, James, I'm not crying so you don't cry. Don't be sad for me. I'm going to be with God, Allah, and Momma. I'm gonna ask dad why didn't give you away at your wedding. Randy Greer, my little brother, I'll be watching you, stay out of trouble. All my nieces and nephews, I love you all. Sammie, Vincent, and Yolanda, I will be watching over you all.
The reason it took them so long is because they couldn't find a vein. You know how I hate needles - I used to stay in the Doctor's Office. Tell the guys on Death Row that I'm not wearing a diaper. I can't think of anything else. You all stay strong. Now you can put this all aside. Don't bury me in the prison cemetery. Bury me right beside momma. Don't bury me to the left of dad, bury me on the right side of mom.
Kim Schaeffer, you are a evil woman. You broke the law. The judges and courts helped you and you didn't have all the facts. When you look at the video, you know you can't see anyone. You overplayed your hand looking for something against me and to cover it up the State is killing me. I'm not mad or bitter though. I'm sad that you are stuck here and have to go through all of this. I am going somewhere better. My time is up. Let me get ready to make my transition. Doug, don't forget Marcy."
