My first ever attempt on shooting a star-trail photo. Taken from my balcony.
Will definitely try it again :)
My first attempt at star trails. Taken at our local National Trust property, The Argory. I didn't know before i went that a wopping great floodlight was left on all night or that there would be a marquee erected on the right hand side of the building.
30 sec exposures with 10 sec intervals, taken at Kielder Observatory on a slightly cloudy evening. The observatory building was lit by accident with white light as people drove home after the evening event. Also took some film ones, can't wait to see how/if they turn out!
ISS Flyby 9-20-09 time lapse clip
Waiting on the shoreline of Lake Michigan, watching the light fade, a friend and I spent some time stacking rocks for an interesting foreground tribute to the soon to arrive flyby.
In this one a ship passed by on the horizon during the exposures and I inadvertently 'painted' the rocks with my head light as I was looking for a snack or something ... looks kinda cool, but I really like the dark silhouettes of the cairns.
This is 130, 30 second exposed photos . Shot with a Nikon D300, iso 1600, Sigma 10-20(set at 10mm) f/4.

On vacation I could find some time for myself where there was a nice clear night again. The holiday started well!
I keep learning every time, you keep discovering!
My first attempt at star trails. Shot in the Trough of Bowland over around 80 shots. It was longer but dew on the lense and two cars passing by ruined several shots.
The brighter stars you can see are the Plough with the Polaris just off the top right of the shot.
In the lower left of the image you can see a series of faint lined running almost vertically, these were shooting stars.
My settings for this were f5.6, 30 second exposure, ISO 400 for 100 frames.
This is the first startrail I've made. I know it's nothing special, but I'm too excited to see I can do it too :D
Haven't uploaded anything for a while, this is 72minutes worth of exposure with a Canon 450D @10mm. Looking towards the South celestial pole with the glow of Christchurch illuminating the lower portion. Temperature was 2c, used a small telescope heater to keep the lens from fogging up. Will have another go with a sodium rejection filter soon.
