First attempt at startrail photography. I'm pretty pleased with the result considering this was in my backyard with more ambient light than I would have liked. Excited to get out into some properly dark locations using this technique and let the camera go for hours. This photo was 79x30sec exposures.
had taken this back in september but removed it from flickr as i dont like it but just reuploaded to share in a talk about startrails that sheridan01 had sparked
took this with the nokia travel charger attached, obviously in too bright a location to capture stars well
My First Startrails Photo taken in Upstate New York. Comprised of (66) sixty six 30 second exposures. Stacked using Startrails software.
Milky way band was just visible this night and coupled with a waning crescent moon it made for good conditions, well for city viewing anyway!

Mein erster Startrail versuch.
Startrail obtained from 540 exposures of 20 seconds each, using Arduino to control the camera in B mode.

I attempted to catch some Cameloparalids in the early hours of the 24thMay but didn't see a single one. Not suprising really as the UK was not due to be in darkness at the peak. The resulting images did allow me to do another startrail though which is great fun! :)
A Startrails picture I composited together with 107 individual 30 second exposures. The very bright streak is Jupiter.

It's my first attempt at a star trail. Used the Startrails application to combine the shots.
Star trails in light polluted London. 30 second exposures @ f3.2 & ISO 100 with a 17mm lens on a Nikon D90. 53 light frames, 7 dark frames. Frames merged using StarTrails.de software
My first attempt at doing some startrails. I think a lot more practice might be called for! Next time I'll try it centred on the pole star, and maybe a higher ISO. Not sure what the streaks are going from bottom left diagonally up to the top - they suddenly appeared part way through the images (200 images @ 30 sec exposure 18mm F5.6 stacked using Startrails.exe)
This is my first attempt at a star trail photo. This was taken at a driving range at about 10:30.
One, fifteen minute exposure. f/4.5, ISO 400
First propper go at startrails - 22 images compiled using "startrails software" (download free here: www.startrails.de/html/software.html)
Next time i'll take more shots and try using a lower ISO, too much grain in this one i think?
22 x 30sec @ f3.5 - ISO400
