Time to get back out under the stars. About 2hrs of earth's rotation, with one big fish jump resulting in ripples distorting the refleftion of the stars for a bit during the shoot. Fun times!

Trying to figure out what to do with the 85 pics I took to get my startrails shot. So I decided to put them together in a cheesy video, and add some cheesy music too. Did I mention it's cheesy. My first and second attempts at this type of shot.
Please feel free to tell me how cheesy it is !
Taken on 6th August 2011 from Timberline Lodge car park. It was taken during a public star party. The star trail was slightly flaw due to someone accidentally kick on the tripod.

The squiggly dot is the north star(its meant to be a dot but the tripod moved) star trails taken from the back garden. This would look so much better taken out in the country without all the street lights hiding all the stars.

Motion of stars in the night sky over the course of 1 hour!

Even though things didn't turn out to be great but were not bad either. got some trails, learning and night trek fun. Kept the "Ghost" activity around the temple just for fun. Lower angle may have given more trails at the top side. Hardly got any trails around pole star.
Used the cable to lock in continuous shoot mode for around 1 hr 20 mins.
Significant shake in the beginning. Added the bag to the center column for stabilizing from winds. so got bit steady later.
Trails don't look continuous. I guess camera was taking some time between the shots. (was it due to long exposure noise reduction? any comments) so instead of 100+ shots, got ~ 75 shots.
Should have used low angle to get more stability with tripod and to cut the light at the bottom.
Whole experience was fun though. Enjoyed. and ready for a good trail somewhere away from city lights
