A situation in the financial markets in which there are practically no dollars available for short-term borrowing is called a "Dollar Squeeze". A situation like this occurred after the Lehman Brothers collapse. Since banks were questioning which bank might fail next, they became reluctant to lend to each other.

A member of the Ennis Czech Boys Band plays the accordion during the 31st Annual) Kolache Festival in Caldwell, Texas. Music is one of the ways the festival celebrates the Czech culture in Texas during this annual street festival. Polka anyone?
Ran the Squeeze today with a bunch of friends. There's not a lot of extra room here and no go-around.

Kingfishers (Alcedo atthis) or Alcedinidae are a family of small to medium-sized, brightly colored birds in the order Coraciiformes. They have a cosmopolitan distribution, with most species found in the tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and Oceania. The family contains 114 species and is divided into three subfamilies and 19 genera. All kingfishers have large heads, long, sharp, pointed bills, short legs, and stubby tails. Most species have bright plumage with only small differences between the sexes. Most species are tropical in distribution, and a slight majority are found only in forests. They consume a wide range of prey usually caught by swooping down from a perch. While kingfishers are usually thought to live near rivers and eat fish, many species live away from water and eat small invertebrates. Like other members of their order, they nest in cavities, usually tunnels dug into the natural or artificial banks in the ground. Some kingfishers nest in arboreal termite nests. A few species, principally insular forms, are threatened with extinction. In Britain, the word "kingfisher" normally refers to the common kingfisher.

Marmalade batch number 2. This time not just seville oranges, but also two lemons and a pink grapefruit were added.
We do like marmalade (but many of these will be shared around family and friends).
Route 9 is not part of the "little oranges" group of services, That did not stop orange-liveried ADL Enviro 133 operating the route on Friday 19th October. It is seen here at Reading Station, on one of the peak-time journeys that is extended to Mereoak Park and Ride, providing staff and visitors to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with an alternative to the scarce and expensive car parking at the Hospital itself.
The usual performer on route 9 is sister vehicle 134, which remains in plain white.
I desperately tried to ensure that I got all of Chard Town Hall in the shot. Buses of Somerset Trident 33127 LT02NVP originated in London and after stints in South Yorkshire and Cornwall, it has ended up seeing out its days.

I don't think it is the prettiest, but I do believe that the collared earthstar is my favourite mushroom (can you tell?).
Usually hidden beneath beech tree leaves, they can be hard to spot.
One of Williamson County's more famous caves has a series of enormous rooms separated by small, muddy squeezes. Not for the faint of heart. Near Florence, Texas.
Having just managed to fit between a Metrobus Scania and a Quality Line E400, Buses Excetera's smart little Enviro200 FN57 EWV loads for Bookham Station on the 489.
The inbound working had been run with a Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President, which I saw from the train at Bookham, and then as it left Epsom out of service after arrival.
This Enviro turned up from Waterloo Road and ran round the one way system to reach the Clock Tower to start the 489. I'm not sure where they'd have been going to/coming from.
Either way, if it was still a PVL, it wouldn't have fitted in the gap here! With the Station Approach stops closed and all buses serving the Clock Tower, it was very busy. You can see a Metrobus 293 in the background biding its time in one of the traffic lanes waiting for stand A to free up!
