"Tricolored Heron with Moon at Dusk" by Patti Deters. A Tricolored Heron (Egretta tricolor) is seen perched in a tree at dusk framed by a full moon. The evening sky is a little cloudy and this coastal bird is settling in for the night. These wading birds are sometimes confused with Great Blue Herons or even cranes as they share similar body shape with the long legs, elongated necks, blue gray feathers, and general stork-like appearance. This single bird was found in Big Cypress National Preserve, near the Florida Everglades National Park, though many times you can see them in the coastal areas of the tropics. I just found out this is a Eastern Kingbird!!! Thank you Rich!!! Apparently it didn't want to associate with anyone. I've seen it hanging out over my way....or maybe it has a nest somewhere. I didn't even know I had two Cedar Waxwing nests in that maple tree! LOL...little sneaky Petes!!!

It's just the little things that make you happy ...
Like this shot for example ...if you notice the focus is on the flower and not the butterfly ...That's because although I could see him fluttering about I couldn't catch him .... he landed as I clicked .... now there's a little thing that made me happy ... the big thing that made me happy that day...is that my Palo and I were on a little road trip .... how cool ....

Commentary.
From Glens Dessary and Pean, near Loch Arkaig,
Glenfinnan and its river winds its way southwards to the once glacial highway of Loch Shiel.
It, in turn, runs south-west and west to reach the sea near Acharacle and Moidart.
This view has been shared by locals, tourists, clans and tribes going back over 10,000 years.
Three hundred years ago the doomed Jacobite Uprising raised its standard here, as commemorated in the monument (left of centre).
Queen Victoria set the trend for exploring these regal mountains and lochs nearly two hundred years ago.
Even Harry Potter enjoyed this classic view from the Hogwarts Express as he crossed the Glenfinnan Viaduct in the popular fantasy books and films.
It is a scene that, in all seasons, catches the eye and the imagination.
Pyramidal peaks, sometimes, as here, snow-capped,
cradle a sumptuous, meandering blue-ribbon of fresh-water
nearly twenty miles in length and 400 feet deep in places,
that is now cruised by visitors in the summer months.
This fjord-like lake contrasts in scale with the gentler,
lower, rias of Moidart, that gain in beauty, what they lose in scale.
The “Road to the Isles” is a pure delight for fifty miles
from Ben Nevis to Loch Nevis, on the western seaboard.
This view from Glenfinnan is always seen as one of the highlights on this legendary trail.
This is an area not made by magic, but it is magical, in that, so many contrasting and complementary landscapes are compressed into such a short journey.
Every twist and turn brings a scene of beauty, colour and joy.
I never cease to be impressed.

Sometimes, I just do beautiful styles. I bought this "Sealed Carving" tattoo at the skin fair and needed a very widely open top or dress to wear it. And Salem just had released one ! Sometimes you just get lucky.
I don't always overly sexualize my avatar cause the aim isn't to do pretty, sexy, outrageous stuff but to create unique styles. In this case, while the dress is pretty edgy, I still find the more classic hair give it a good balance and the IV bag adds some needed creepiness.
I'll also post a picture from an event @Adrenalin just after the 3 photoshoot post, just to show how I managed to add some beauty to it with a wonderful umbrella by Lavish.

Sometimes it is the constraints that we face that motivate us. Sometimes when we are told that something is not possible, we are driven to achieve it, to prove that it is possible, to prove the naysayers wrong.
Also, sometimes it is the constraints that drive innovation. It is the limitations of some tool or some process that drive us to find a better way to do something.
Sometimes, it is the shortcomings of a job or place of employment that drive us to find the career that we really have a passion for.
Sometimes, the fence is what defines that which is enclosed.
