I'm terribly sorry, but there is absolutely NO symmetry in this picture! :))))

(I still like the three "s" in the title...) Hahaha...

I to the hills

King James Bible

I Will Lift Up My Eyes to the Hills

1{A Song of degrees.} I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Sometimes in life, we feel the need to protect ourselves against the outside world. Just don't stay in there too long, you will suffocate.

...it´s easier to walk to work than trust the subway.

Sometimes the best photo shot of the day is the one not taken, but shared. Yesterday in a wildlife park I saw a Sandhill Crane with her new chick. Being spring, I was also treated to a scene of a mother deer and fawn. Further on, near the great Myakka River, there was an amazing sight: an osprey not 30 feet above, carrying a large fish toward his nest in the trees. It glittered silver in the morning sun. But, sadly, I didn't have time to set up the shot. Nearby was a young blond boy walking with his grandparents. I shouted to him, "Look, do you see that?" It seemed important to share. His eyes looked up quickly with wonder at the awesome scene. He looked at me solemnly, and replied, "I saw it". I had the feeling the image would remain with him for many years.

So, this spring day of photography turned out to be all about the young: the newly born animals, their parents nurturing them, and sharing a special moment with a boy. And most of all, that the best shot of the day may be the one never even taken.

Sometimes you are on good terms with Lady Luck some days you are not. This is I was as I was on my way to the Berea Train show and I had a feeling in my gut to go by the Airport and see if there was anything sitting waiting to go west and boy was I in for a treat!

Sometimes I return

Because I have a

thought

desire

wish

To see it differently

To hope it will be different

Always in search of something different

And it always is

In ways that are

subtle

intriguing

beautiful

And that makes me happy...

So I will return again,

everyday...

A lovely North Dakota barn - different from the typical Wisconsin barn - the roof is flat and angular not rounded. Still, it was so lovely that I had to walk into one of their fields to take its picture.

A sunday walk in the park on a fine sunny Autumn day. This is the best time to escape for from the hustle and bustle of city life, and reflect with positive energy with a breath of new life and hope.

Sometimes, Lake Michigan could be sooo still, soo balmy ... and the setting sun sets off wonderful color gradations in the water. The ducks know something that we don't, perhaps?

Sometimes, the one24th scale team stumbles into a great location to shoot. The night before this shoot, Google satellite images were used to scout the foothills west of metro Denver for somewhere we had not yet been. It had to be low enough in altitude that the trees still had green leaves and near enough to a road or parking lot that two old men did not have to haul all their toys too far.

In the background, you can see a ridge of rock that looked promising. We met at the parking lot of the fabulous Fort Restaurant for ease of navigation. We took one look at that horizon and decided to shoot some pictures where we were.

That worked out well because, it turned out, there was no place close to that distant ridge to set up.

If you are ever in the area, the Fort is a local institution. The building is a replica of Bent’s Old Fort on the Santa Fe Trail. You can enjoy all sorts of wild game and exotic delicacies like, Rocky Mountain Oysters or Rattlesnake, maybe some whiskey with gunpowder…

As to the car in this image, in any scale, it is a Duesy!

This is a forced perspective photograph of a 1/32 scale die-cast model car in front of a real background.

Kiss me hard before you go

Summertime sadness

I just wanted you to know

That baby, you the best

I got my red dress on tonight

Dancin' in the dark, in the pale moonlight

Done my hair up real big, beauty queen style

High heels off, I'm feelin' alive

Oh, my God, I feel it in the air

Telephone wires above are sizzlin' like a snare

Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere

Nothin' scares me anymore

(One, two, three, four)

Kiss me hard before you go

Summertime sadness

I just wanted you to know

That baby, you the best

I got that summertime, summertime sadness

Su-su-summertime, summertime sadness

Got that summertime, summertime sadness

Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

I'm feelin' electric tonight

Cruisin' down the coast, goin' about 99

Got my bad baby by my heavenly side

I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight

Oh, my God, I feel it in the air

Telephone wires above are sizzlin' like a snare

Honey, I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere

Nothin' scares me anymore

(One, two, three, four)

Kiss me hard before you go

Summertime sadness

I just wanted you to know

That baby, you the best

I got that summertime, summertime sadness

Su-su-summertime, summertime sadness

Got that summertime, summertime sadness

Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

Think I'll miss you forever

Like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky

Later's better than never

Even if you're gone, I'm gonna drive (drive), drive

I got that summertime, summertime sadness

Su-su-summertime, summertime sadness

Got that summertime, summertime sadness

Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

Kiss me hard before you go

Summertime sadness

I just wanted you to know

That baby, you the best

I got that summertime, summertime sadness

Su-su-summertime, summertime sadness

Got that summertime, summertime sadness

Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

Sometimes you just need a rest.

Sometimes (IMHO) a poorly taken photo can turn out quite interesting. This shot is overexposed, even though it was underexposed by 1 2/3 (not enough. I took some at -3 still not enough) The result however is, I believe, quite interesting as it has darkened the water and produced this ethereal effect. Tell me what you think. No trickery involved

Tip

Sometimes natural light is more than enough.

So always also shoot some images with the available light it might be that you don't need the strobes ;)

Sometimes it’s all I could do to hold the phone steady!

Sometimes I feel a little mad

But don't you know that no one alive can always be an angel

When things go wrong I feel real bad.

the Animals

Nature is not always warm and fuzzy. Survival can be very, very harsh. It was a good day for this Merlin, but not at all for the smaller bird he was eating. This is a huge crop. Sometimes I wish I had a 2000mm + lens!

Sometimes I cannot keep up to the flickr pace with all these selective choices (ie days for certain things). I do find it fun and challenging. I remembered a day awhile ago when we took the Grandkids to the park and I took this bench shot. Do you think I could find it though?

Well I did. Happy Bench Monday.

Sometimes you gotta shake up your look!

Sometimes photographs find behind BW space that one is an example of it

Sometimes you just want to take a ride into the sunset.

Not in looks.

Not in what they say.

Just in what they are!

Also, sometimes after heavy rains is a lot of mist in the woodland. So an early start to head to Otley Chevin. Some lovely misty conditions around.

Sometimes I just like the looks of a meal I've prepared.

Sometimes you get a view that needs no framing and no comment.

I dedicate it to HFDLfotografe (Lynn) who loves tales of yore especially, Welsh dragons, merlin, Arthur, knights of the round table. Your imagination would go haywire in these parts at this time of night Lynn - Sandra
