After Mick and I had finished at St Mary's he was good enough to take me on a brief tour of a handful of other locations within close reach, one of them being Blyth Harbour.

The beach streches on endlessly with a few pipes, groynes and jettys jutting out into the ocean.

This was the only shot I took that morning as the sun was incredibly bright and from the viewpoint on the harbour, directly in front of us. I've created a set for this shot deliberately as I plan on shooting up after work later this year to catch some nice reflected sunsets one evening.

This is also a bit of a nod to some gorgeous pinhole camera photographs I've been looking at this week like this and this, using one of these that I am seriously tempted by at somepoint soon.

Have a great weekend everyone.....

My takes on Powerboy, and Powergirl. May see them at somepoint in my Superboy series. Anyways, yeah.

In late October the Central States Steam Preservation Association and Iowa Interstate ran 6988 for 2 round trips to South Amana to use up the remaining coal before 6988 and her sister 7081 are prepped and stored long term until their 1472 inspections can be completed. Here we are on the 2nd and final day of runs at Brooklyn Iowa where 6988 sits in the hole so the crew can grab a quick lunch while the eastbound road freight CBBI (Council Bluffs Iowa to Blue Island Illinois) flys by on the main. Crazy to think 15 years flew by and both engines are up for their 1472s. It feels like just not too long ago my grandpa would bring me down to Iowa City to see the IAIS steam double headers and being able to catch most of the 6988 runs after its return to the mainline in 2018 was a good way to remember him by. With rumors circulating around that weekend it sounds like the IAIS has a bright future of steam returning to the mainline at somepoint in the future.

First post-lockdown trip west with Iain (Highlandscape) yesterday. We decided on the Torridon area, fully expecting to get wet at somepoint (several times as it turned out!). Beinn Eighe was our first stop in search of some ancient Scots Pines with a mountain backdrop. We hadn't really planned it but ended up taking the Mountain Trail to get above the tree line and found these old and not so-old specimens framing a pretty cascade at about 1200 feet up.

My little friend looks to have either been wounded around it's mouth at somepoint or, perhaps a cleft lip.

well thats all folks....

I thought i would try and combine two of my most popular 365days shots ( Day 183 and Day 311) for my final image of my 365 days. I'm fairly happy with this but i'm sure i can do better at somepoint in the future ;-) watch this space.

Thanks to everyone who has viewed, commented and faved my 365 shots over the past year, you have spurred me on.

Its been a fun and very interesting project, often hard work at times , and i must confess at some stages throughout the year i thought about quitting it. But i didn't and i'm bloody chuffed that i made it through without missing a day.

Would i do it again? Probably not, however i will probably do the 52 weeks project as this will give me more time to focus on my other photography over the coming year, something which i think the 365 day project stopped me from doing somewhat as i always wanted to get a "decent 365".

Have i learnt anything throughout my 365? Erm, thats a difficult one. A few things i guess, generally i'm a fairly happy go lucky person who enjoys life (although i may not show this at home as much as i should ;-) =( ).

If taking a photo of my face, i photograph alot better from above!

Jumping helps make a boring photo more interesting ;-)

I'm generally fairly healthly (i was only ill once during my 365 project - hopefully this won't change in the coming year).

i may well add to the list at a later date and do up some stats on the photos when i can be bothered, but now i'm gonna go have a pint or two to celebrate!

Former Safeway store located at 1720 Fremont Blvd in Seaside,CA. The building was sub-divided at somepoint probably in the late 1990's to house a Kragen Auto Parts and "Pets and Ponds".

The exterior of the building has received very few renovations since the closure of Safeway. This is the original Safeway sign facing Fremont Blvd. and would've had a letter font similar to the SF Market Street store.

no title or story! just wanted to show off, ill get back to stories at somepoint! but for now here you go

I've found a goldmine of characters that are so minor that there's not even a comicvine page of them, or a wikia at all. A member of Run Riot, and is also called Brother Red. I'll be making Riot (Brother Yellow), Roughneck (Brother Blue), Brother Green, Brother Orange, and Brother Brown at some point. The latter 3 weren't lucky enough to get original names. They appear in issues 94, 95, 96, 97, and 100. I'll also be doing my own versions of the slaughterhouse six at somepoint. Minor Superboy villains for the win!

Love it or hate it, this is the SVR's celebration for the Queens Platnum Jubilee. This will then return back to it's normal livery at somepoint.

Just an updated version of my last version, small changes to the front, hub caps, and back sides (glow in the dark studs make it look pretty sweet in the dark). Biggest change is obviously the wings, added them to make it look more like a Batmobile than a generic supercar

EDIT: Wow, this photo is blurry as, I'll take a better one at somepoint

This was one of the many attempts I have taken a shot of with routes 7 and 13 together.

Route 13 will be withdrawn (as a number or something like that - ask another enthusiast for the inner details) somepoint in 2016, I'd imagine with various revisions to services around the Finchley Road and Lisson Grove areas.

And then, route 7 is rumoured to also be withdrawn (with several more cutbacks potentially happening) once Crossrail is up and running with revisions to buses in the Ladbroke Grove area (especially route 70).

So, let's say in 5 years, will it be possible to get a shot with both routes 7 and 13 in it together?

I found 5 turkey feathers today on my walk and so naturally I brought them home to photograph. Once done, they went in the vase with the others. Mike asked if I were saving them to build my own turkey. LOL Of course I am.

Our youngest granddaughter called them daffadons when she was little. She even made up a song about Tulips and Daffadons. I have always called them that since first hearing her rename them in song.

New to London United(VA39), in 06/1998, this Volvo Olympian is seen here about to loading in Ilkley Bus Station, on 12/10/2008. Having been transferred 'oop North', it is working an X84 to Leeds, its home city. At somepoint after being transferred, it was converted to single-door from dual-door but I'm unsure if it was still dual-doored here. It later went to work for Brighouse Star Twirlers Majorettes.

Route 558 was introduced on the 10th August to aid the Victoria Line closure between Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central.

Route 558 starts at Seven Sisters, continues non-stop to Tottenham Hale (Mill Mead Road), then non-stop to Blackhorse Road Station before stopping as normal along the 158 route to Chingford Mount where it terminates. The route did not serve Walthamstow Central.

The route was a very nice route, Cricklewood (W) operated the route using TPs drafted in from Uxbridge (UX), Brentford (AH), Holloway (HT) and Potters Bar (PB).

It did prove quite popular, from Seven Sisters the route was very busy and started to unload around the Higham Hill area and by Walthamstow Stadium Housing Complex/ Crooked Billet the bus was empty.

Hopefully the route comes back as a permanent route somepoint in the future as I found it very useful and quick.

To continue with my luck and Disney Stores, I finally make my way back to America. I venture into one of the largest malls that there could possibly be only to find... the Disney store closed today or yesterday for renovations.

Seriously, this is just how things go for me. I really should have just packed up and gone home at that point, America is trying to make it clear to me that I will never be able to replace my Mickey Mouse Spoon Rest for my stove.

Disappointing.

But otherwise, a good day. A bit long and tiring, but still good. Tomorrow afternoon/evening is back to Canada, so just a quick visit to the state of NY this time around, but I'm sure they'll be many visits in the future to make up for this... and hopefully at somepoint during those visits, the Disney store will actually be open!

Anyway, hope everyone has had a good day.

VOTE

Like many Candians, Mike and I did our civic duty and cast a ballot in the Federal Election we had yesterday. Some ballots are still being counted but results are in in many ridiings.

I am removing commenting on this image because I don't want to see any political pissing match even though the election is over. As I have always told my children, I don't give a rat's ass who you vote for, as long as you vote. Many people paid the ultimate sacrifice for us to be able to cast a ballot. We should not disprespect their memory by not honouring their sacrafice and performing our civic duty by voting.

Always seem o forget that I have more casual clothes.

Need to give this mirror a good cleaning at somepoint too...

So, messing around with head swaps I discovered that Minami looks amazing on Eika's body so I'm guessing all the Lucky Star figmas will look good on Busou Shinki/MMS bodies. The proportions just fit very well.

I might need to try get a second Eika at somepoint that's how much I like this combo. So cute!

"So.. That's what happened to her..." I say, as tears still roll down my cheek.

"Yeah.." Jessica muses, closing the journal before placing it on her nightstand.

"I feel like there are better ways to cope with what happened, than going straight to drugs. What is this stuff anyway?"

"I tried Andy, I tried!" Jess replies, raising her voice slightly. "But no amount of music, or therapy stopped the nightmares. I know you're just trying to help, but unless you've been in the places I have these last two years, you have nooo idea.."

"Okay ookay, I'm sorry. Obviously I can't force you to stop, cause at the end of the day, that's your own choice to make, but can you at least give me some details as to what this new signature drug is? Since I'll probably run into this at somepoint while ya know, being a superhero." I say, trying to stay quiet so her parents can't overhear.

"Uh, sure.." Jessica hesitantly says, eyeing the yellow powdery substance.. "It's called Euphoria. Pretty self-explanatory with a name like that. Upon taking it, you feel happy, and free, like nothing in the world can take you down."

"Any side effects?"

"Nope! At least, none that I've seen anyway.

"Hmm, okay.."

"Also, before you ask, there's a website." She says, pulling out her laptop from underneath her bed. After logging into her computer, it takes about a minute or so before she pulls the website up on the browser. Never thought I'd see the day when supervillains have their own websites set up for distributing their own product. Almost like they want to get caught or something..

"So this Euphorium guy that keeps getting mentioned, have you met with him?"

"No. All the dealings I've ever done have been through middlemen. Sorry."

"Figured as much. Nah, it's all good. You've been a big help already. Thanks.."

"Probably going to regret telling you in a minute or two, but yea, no worries. Anyways, as much fun as reliving this rollercoaster of emotions has been, I should probably hang out with my sister. Haven't been there as much I should be."

"Sister?" Jessica has a sister? I don't remember that..

"My sister.. Danika.. You really don't remember her either?"

"What??! Ohhh, Danika, right.. Sorry, for a second there it felt like my mind went completely blank." Huh, that's strange.. Not sure how I forgot something like that. Not even out of high school, and I'm forgetting simple things. Definitely not a good sign.

"Weird.. Anyway, I'll talk to you later, alright?"

"Yeah, sure thing!" I say with a smile, giving her a hug before I leave her room through the window. Thankfully her neighbourhood doesn't have too many security cameras, so it should be fine to fly for a bit.. I still get that adrenaline rush every time I fly. There's nothing cooler than being able to soar above the city skyline. Of course, my stomach starts grumbling.. Guess I should get something to eat then. I make my way to the nearest 7-11, landing in a nearby alleyway. I arrive at the 7-11 minutes later. Opening the door, I make a beeline to the slushie station, where of course I get the biggest size possible. Probably going to get a brain freeze, but it's totally worth it. Wait, there's a sour patch kids watermelon flavor now?! I'm soo down! After mixing a few other flavors in, I walk towards the register. There's no lineup either, sweet.

"Is that everything for you today?" The cashier asks unenthusiastically. I'm about to nod, but then I remember that I should probably get something to eat.

"Could I also get two slices of that buffalo chicken pizza please?" He nods, walking over to the food warmer display, grabbing two slices, before putting them on a plate, and placing it on a counter.

"That'll be five fifty-seven." He says, before pressing a few buttons. I nod, pulling out my debit card, and tapping it on the screen. I'm able to gobble one piece down before I'm even out the door. I barely even get two sips of my slushie before my hand starts to glow. Awwh man!

---------------------------

Elsewhere (POV Switch)

There's the money.. Just gotta get to that truck. Six goons on each side of the deal, piece of cake. Jumping off the ledge, I land right into the middle of the two groups,

"Hi there." I say with a smirk, and a wave, as both sides start shooting at me, and the opposite side. No surprises here, they're all terrible shots, so I'm able to roll out-of-the-way relatively easily, using a nearby car as cover.

" You set us up! " One of the thugs yells, as the firefight starts.

"So, I'll take this as a no to just letting me have the money then? Fine, we'll do this the hard way.." With the snap of my fingers, my alters appear. They're big enough of a distraction for me to get close to the goons dressed in purple. Grabbing the pistol from one of them, I shoot another, right in the knee. Almost the start of a bad meme right there. Anyways, moving on! One of the stray bullets from the other side nicks me in the shoulder, but thanks to the upgrades Leon put in recently, it's not a big deal. Though it does ruin the paint job, ugh. My alters use each other as springboards, to propel them towards the goons. Lots of grunts, cracks, and screams later, my alters are done with that side, as I'm still stuck dodging these wimpy punches this guy's throwing. It's like he's never been in a fight before, or something. The palm of my left hand hits his jaw, as my right hits him right in the ribcage. My alters are about to move in to assist, when I shake my head.

"You all had your fun.. Let me have mine." And even though they all think they're not the alternates, they shockingly obey. Grabbing a smoke pellet from my belt, I smash it down in front of me. Always so careless with their bullets when they can't see.. Sure enough, the goons end up doing half the work for me. Two left.. Leaning against the top of the car door, I laugh, as I backhand the goon, sending him flying right towards one of my alters. He knocks the goon out pretty quickly, even though I told them not to interfere. Ugh. Only one now. He unloads his entire clip on one of my alters. Well, bye bye alter number 2-5-8-3-7, it was nice knowing ya.. While he's reloading, I'm able to kick him into a nearby street lamp. Me and my army of alters surround him, and he puts his hands up into the air.

"Please! I surrender! Don't kill me." He screams. I shrug, as I look around at my alters. Most of them just shake their head.

"You idiot. If you'd just let me go and take the money, we wouldn't have had to do this the hard way.. Just think of this as a teachable moment." Ah yes, surrendering.. Even though he's reaching for a gun now. I shoot him right in the shoulder, and upon collapsing onto the ground I search him for the keys, and sure enough, it's in his jacket pocket. Walking towards the truck, that's loaded with money, I can't help but smile.

"You actually let him live? Weak.." One of the other alters says, as I get in the driver's side of the truck.

"Want to call 9-1-1? Be my guest! I've gotta pay for this super suit somehow, so I'm cashing in!" As we pull out of the lot, I notice a speck of orange following us through the rearview mirror. Looks like it's gonna be a long night after all.

recent addition today, was too cheap to turn down another opportunity for one of these, mind you when MIM kit of this comes out my number of citybus kits should almost double! needs an interior which i can fit, will fit glazing, some of the paint may be tidied up however don't really want to fully repaint this. wheels will also be changed at somepoint.

You should really view it Like This.

Just in case you're wondering where I ripped off this sky... I did photograph it from a plane ;-).

Today was the first day of my 3 (or four... I haven't decided yet) day vacation. I finished the podcast, backed up some files and watched "Rocky Balboa".

This week on the podcast, we decided to challenge everyone to do magazine covers or posters. Here is my contribution.

I thought of this last night as I was looking through all the fun copy-cat photos that everyone did to honor Mav. His mom had decided to honor him by instituting "Founder's Day" on May 19th. Mav's done a lot for the group and deserved some recognition for all he's done.

But the more I read, the more I became slightly depressed by the whole thing.

For those of you who don't know, I was doing the project for eight months before any of you (including Mav) had any clue what 365 was.

Every year as a new years resolution, I start a project that will take me a year to finish. It's a way to keep me creative year in and year out. One year it's a record, another it was a comic... I even wrote and directed a feature film. In 2006 is was taking a self portrait a day for a year.

I had been posting all my photos on flickr, along with a short diary entry, without really drawing much attention. At that point it wasn't much of a social networking site. So I got some people following along, but it wasn't a big deal.

I chronicled the death of my Grandmother, A new career in Newspaper and then a step up into Television Production. By July I was moving my family to Montgomery, Alabama.

The photos were mostly just me in the bathroom mirror or late at night with the dogs... nothing really special. But every once in a while I'd plan something special.

On June 17th 2008, I shot this Superman Photo. It was in response to the upcoming movie and to the gift my wife and daughter had given me for Father's Day. Little did I know that a month later, Chris Maverick would find it and ask me if I minded if he did the project too. I did not mind. He then decided to start a group an invite others to join.

Sadly, I only had a few months left and before the group got really going, I was done with my project and involved in writing another script.

I had no idea how popular the group would become. I suddenly felt left out of and detached from the very thing that I had created.

But I stalked the group here and there and was happy to hear that others were understanding what I had come to understand about the project and I got some enjoyment out of that.

But I started noticing that it was expanding beyond the group and somehow... Chris was now the only one mentioned in the origin story. I would talk to people online and they would tell me that Chris was the first one to do it. It sort of depressed me.

Now, Chris has never been one to exclude me. He has mentioned my name before and always refers back to me when talking about the project, but history was rewriting itself regardless.

So, I decided that it was partially my fault for not continuing the project past 2006 and that I needed to make up for what I missed in a big way. So I got everything set up to do a podcast (I was already going to do one for my new year's resolution, but it wasn't going to be related to 365) and asked Mav if he'd like to co-host. I wrote a theme song, created a set, got space on podbean and began working towards our first episode.

Twenty episodes later I felt like I was making an impact on the group that would certainly restore my place as a founder and major contributor. But I guess it's hard to change the minds of all 8,000+ people.

So, to return to last night, I began reading everyone's kind comments and beaming a little at how the project had changed their lives. But suddenly I was struck with the language that they used. Ninety Five percent of the time (so it seemed), Chris was mentioned as the sole originator.

I feel like down the road when people remember 365 (I'm sure Wikipedia will cover it at somepoint), I'll be nothing more than a footnote... if that.

Sadly, I feel this way because I'm already in Wikipedia as a footnote to my former band 12 Stones.

Anyway, please don't feel like I'm throwing myself a pity-party, this is my diary entry... it will remind me about why I created this. There's not much I can do to re-insert myself into the mythology except to just keep doing the podcast and keep creating good work and hope that maybe one day, the 300 or so of you that watch the show will remember.

Strobist Info: Alien Bees B800 through a softbox at camera right.

The little bathtub was my late motherr-in-laws. She had it in her bathroom to hold soap and the plug for the sink. I figured it might make a great photo prop at somepoint.

With a little help from a bathtub toy that I had for MFM a number of years ago and some clear glass marbles to sub as "bubbles" I put the Lensbaby Scout and the Twist 60 on the Canon 7D.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.

The 14 plate Astromegas both have very poorly visible destination displays. Not sure whether the light is set too dim or the window tint is too strong.

50251 passes Mealmarket Street on the Buchan Link 60. At one point Buchan services would have terminated at the old Bus Station on Mealmarket Street now the Premier Inn.

It has also lost its Megabus window branding at somepoint.

recent addition today, was too cheap to turn down another opportunity for one of these, mind you when MIM kit of this comes out my number of citybus kits should almost double! needs an interior which i can fit, will fit glazing, some of the paint may be tidied up however don't really want to fully repaint this. wheels will also be changed at somepoint.

Iron Ore Tippler B386369 stands in the yard at Foxfield Colliery, Foxfield Railway, 5th May 2018.

Wagon History

The London Midland and Scottish Railway developed a system for iron ore traffic where the wagon was unloaded at the steelworks by rotating it through 180 degrees. On the formation of British Railways a 27 ton, all steel mineral wagon similar to the 16 ton mineral wagon but without any doors and with heavier journals was introduced. In total seven thousand five hundred and seventy unfitted wagons were built to four similar diagrams (1/180, 1/181, 1/183, 1/184) between 1951 and 1958. A further thousand similar wagons fitted with roller bearings and vacuum brakes were built in 1960. B386369 is a diagram 1/184 wagon built at Derby in 1958 under lot 3091. At somepoint in time it has acquired vacuum brakes.

An experimental video at Plaistow Station of WH31118 on route 473, followed by 11028 on route 241, heading southbound.

I'll give this another shot at somepoint, hopefully less shaky than this one.

This morning, while waking up at 7 and meeting my friend at about 10,

i needed to burn time.

with it also being half term, i could do this route.

536 is waiting at darlton drive turning circle, to do a 57 after doing the 7:50 57X to Plains estate via sherwood.

might have to do the 89A at somepoint too.

Ruined church of St.Mary the Virgin in Monmouth.

I once visited Tintern Abby In Monmnouthshire without even reaslising this beautifull ruined church was perched on the hillside above it. It was only when I got home and was planning my next excursion that my research discovered this place.

I had just finnished photgraphing a runined church in Avensbury and this was next on my list. Its pretty easy to get to. Just follow the zig zag path up the Hilside from the Tintern Abbey car park.

I spent about 3hrs there trying to find the bestlens and composition and hoping the light would improve. On the day There were a number of volunteers clearing the brambles from the graveyard by hand and burning them. I hope they dont clear this place too much, as undoubtably the overun feel to this place is a strong part of its charm.

In the end the sky remained dull and overcaste. I left dissapointed that I woudln't be able to get the shot I wanted. This is definately a best composition, but I was dissapointed I had to create this HDR from the RAW file inorder to inject interest into the sky.

I'm definately going to return at somepoint and try and get a decent sunset shot. I just hope it hasn't been sanitized too much when I do.
