Gray snappers are more curious than other snappers. If you lie motionless on the bottom near the reef they're circling, they'll come check you out, getting close enough to photograph - or spear.

Snapper at Goat island, Leigh, New Zealand. If the camera had actually been set to rear sync I would have been happy (it can't be changed in the housing). Now it looks like the snapper are speeding backwards.
