There was a snapper tearing up the grass in the back yard when we woke up. When I took Calee to her room near the front of the house she kept yelling turtle. When I looked out there was another one on the front yard. All in all they dug 6 holes and planted 5 eggs in one nest near the driveway. When we looked them up online it said the average snapper would lay 25-30 eggs so I don't think she was done. At any rate I picked them both up by their tails and put them into a 5 gallon bucket and dumped them back in the pond. I think I'm going to have to move them both to a lake nearby in order to save the lawn.

Came upon this snapping turtle birthing in Door County, Wisconsin. Kept distance so as to capture and not disturb.
I falling in love with this common snapper when I visited a pet shop. I bought him and having a close up picture. He is friendly not like the others. He sometimes eat a lot but sometimes eat a littel . His skin and carapce was very dark therefore he looks like Batman lol... just kidding ... or it just my imagination. He has red and yellow skin on the back. Very contrast with his black skin.

This bruiser just successfully crossed M28 in Bergland, MI. After playing bashful for the camera he trekked off across the cemetary.
The weather may not have been great but that did not stop all the surfers make the most of the swell from X Cyclone Marcia. I really needed a bigger zoom lens to catch any of the surfers.
The river is several hundred feet away, across the street and partly uphill yet she came to our yard presumably to lay her eggs.
