My husband, whom I adore, grew up in the Great Depression. He believes in using things up. I have seen his old, patched gloves for a long time,. but today, I felt like weeping when I really saw them. I was in our basement, on the treadmill, and there they were, on the wood pile, as they always are. The old leather and contrasting shiny duct tape seemed to make a statement about the generations, while capturing the light and my husband's essence. He later told me these gloves are 25 years old and have been patched over and over. I love this man and this shot.
