Short story long...

As mentioned in yesterday's photo free post, Henry has a hot spot.

If you don't know what one is, you can google it. Just don't do it if you're eating.

His covers the lower half of his undercarriage - including the boy bits.

Thankfully, although it went from zero to vast tracts of Henry in just a few hours, the Magic Medicine the vet applied yesterday seems to be working wonders, and Henry is now a much happier boy.

But he still hesitates to sit and lie down. The formal kind of sit and lie down. The sprawl on his side kind of lie down he's more than happy to do, and did pretty much the entire day.

What does that have to do with this picture of Zachary?

Absolutely nothing - except that it's rather hard to pose a dog who doesn't want to sit. Or lie down. Yet doesn't want his co-model to be working even if he isn't.

Sooo... you get a happy-snappy of Zachary on the sofa.

A happy-snappy complete with a "well placed" vertical line (lamp post) smack dab in the middle of the frame, clutter in the background (on its way to the donation bin) and Zachary's big old rump front and (off)center.

But he's my Zachary, and I'm the one who was sitting on the other end of the sofa, so this simple slice-of-life image makes me smile. :)

Quick as a wink I had this banana sliced before the first piece hit the ground. Quite a trick and triping the shutter at the same time. Oh, and the flash helped stop the motion of the flying banana chips.

Christmas Card

This image was selected by the company I work for as the company's Christmas card for this year. At first I didn't think it was that great of an image for a Christmas card but after seeing the final result, it turned out great!

EXIF

Ignore it on this one as it is not the correct one.

Thought I'd try a different crop, following the useful suggestions that were made when I posted this shot orignally in b&w. Got rid of the train tracks, recropped so there's more space to the left of the woman, left just a bit of gravel for balance etc etc. However, I couldn't resist leaving the wooden canopy in. It's so much a part of Berkhamsted Station. And I thought colour might bring out the subjects more, as they seemed to be lost in the b&w background. So, Ice Box crew...is this one any better? And Happy Slider Sunday, everyone!

A while ago I did a layered apple composition with red and green apples...I kept the end of the green apple with plans to shoot it as I liked the star..the end slice kept drying further and further as I kept procrastinating to set the shot up and then the hard edges of the seeded area started to protrude from the flesh...a zoom blur applied to the flesh to accentuate the star...for you Corrie!

Just a fun little take on the orange slice and such. I went to HEB to get oranges, and they were HUGE! Bigger than my hand! It was crazy. Fruit on steroids.

But they're delicious!

A glass of Club Soda And a slice of Lemon!

Just a rainy Sunday afternoon :)

I used to help my mother to slice beans with this in the 1960's, and even though it looks very dated it still works extremely well. It was passed on to me a few years ago.

Today my daughter and I have picked, sliced, blanched and frozen almost 2kg of beans from our garden. The slicer made the whole process much quicker, and it was clearly made to last a lifetime or two, or even three!

Belah loves her apple slices and she is even happier because she knows she'll be swinging in a few minutes!

Naturally, when the river's flow was below the long-term average, sharing according to those specifications was impossible. The Egyptians, who are more heavily industrialized than the Sudanese, claimed that their water needs should take priority, leading to regional tensions that persist to this day
