Andrew (a.k.a. Aser) and friends whipped up a great dinner tonight -- vegetable skewers, carrot and mango salad, chicken curry. Some good floor-based dining to go with Andrew's crack floor-based skewering technique.

March 22, first grilling night of 2009! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Schnookie made chicken and red pepper and feta skewers. They're insanely good and perfect for early Spring grilling!
Taking a daytrip to Osaka, I came across a number of restaurants selling these skewers of breaded vegetables and the sort. It was obvious that I had to try some out myself. So, being just after noon, I had to order what goes well with this meal: a nice tall chilled glass of beer!
I had the omakase, or chef's recommendation, which consisted of 10 pieces of skewers. The interesting addition to the meal was the raw cabbage that he provided me with, along with some sauce to dip in. It was so simple, yet made for a good appetizer.
This was taken a few weeks back, at Dom's rooftop Beijing BBQ. I believe he got these skewers from Carrefoure. :-P They were very yum!
We found an area with tables and grills on a hike and thought we should try. Fun to look for branches to make a fire and just enjoy the nice weather in the forest with family (and the food)!
