So this is basically me when I'm being totally myself.
Sketchbook in hand, hat on my head and pulling a weird face.
You don't get much more Katie-esque than this! haha!
I always have my sketchbook with me. I draw in it a lot but I also use it to write down notes because my memory is terrible so I'm always jotting things down! I always try and cram loads on one page for some reason though so it's still no where near full :P

Hand made sketchbook. Strathmore 300 Bristol.
I've tired of the steady industry wide decline in paper. Even the old standbys won't hold an ink line it seems. Made this from some scaps of bristol I had. Going to try and fill it up as fast as possible... I've made sketchbooks in the past, but have some kind of mental block in using them.

I decided the revisit the pod shape that emerged from the previous doodle. It was a conscious choice to draw three pods. The rest developed as I went along.

I got a new sketchbook from a friend and I love it - I feel really inspired lately to draw again :)
At Martha's, waiting to be called to table for boxing day supper. Our niece and nephew loaned me some markers, and I noticed too late that the orange one was perfumed. Now my sketchbook is all stinky.
Among the many drawings I did this summer were two concertina sketchbooks , drawn in the woodlands at Walden. These follow in the style of my "Red Notebooks" drawn at Simon's Wood in the winter this past year. They are to be viewed asa scroll and therefore do not have a single vanishing point, rather they are are from multiple angles as I worked in the woods. Drawn in ink and graphite.

I've been playing around with ways to create areas of softness. In this piece, when polygons are filled with texture (in this case, only simple dots), the dots may be shifted based on their proximity to a series of "displacement" points. The magnitude and direction of the displacements can be tuned, as well as the radius of influence.
