It's often about the simple things, isn't it? Painting and photography are first about seeing, they say. Writing is about observing. Technique is secondary. Sometimes the simple is the most difficult.

The thunder and the rain
The way you say my name
After all the clouds go by
The simple things remain
The sun, the moon, the stars
The beating of two hearts
How I love the simple things
The simple things just are
Oh, the ocean and the sky
The way we feel tonight
I know that it's the love that brings
The simple things to life
The sun, the moon, the stars
The beating of two hearts
I love the way the simple things
The simple things just are
I love the way the simple things
The simple things just are
The simple things just are
The simple things
Just are

Just a simple photo of sea and sky and not much else. I think I was walking back across the beach with my camera and seen the nice sky and thought I would attempt a simple style beachscape. Relaxing scene I thought.

At every moment of our existence we have to choose between one path and the other. A simple decision can affect a person for life.

I felt like this shot might be a good panacea for the unchecked greed that sometimes grips people's hearts on "Black Friday". For my little Bella, there is pretty much nothing in the world that makes her happier than an old cruddy ball and a human who cares enough to take the time to throw it for her. If dogs were into smiling, her grin would be from ear to ear. The truth of the matter is that sometimes the face of the person throwing the ball has a big grin, too, from the reflection of the joy of the animal. Don't forget simple pleasures this holiday season! And, if you are looking for an expensive pleasures - this lens (a loaner from Fuji) is fantastic and can be yours for only $6000 USD! This was one of a number of shots from this session that shows a nailed subject moving at high speed. To see my first look video: bit.ly/XF200fl | To see more images: bit.ly/XF200ig

This dress really is a rather simple number yet it got a few lovely comments last night a few from yourselves that just goes to show that an outfit doesn't have to be too flashy.
Wasn't a very good class yesterday due to lack of number, I got stuck leading a partner who can't really dance, i hope next week is better.
Still i felt good about myself and had a laugh so all wasn't lost.

After a difficult and stressful day, settling in with a cup of tea is a nice release.
My day did not go as planned. It started with a collision that caused a lot of damage to my vehicle (I wasn't at fault), but none to any people involved, thankfully.
So instead of going to work today, I spent my time working with insurance, repair centres and rental places. Which makes for a long day, but glad to have everything rolling. Fingers crossed that it doesn't take too long for my car to be repaired.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

Just testing to see if I've finally managed to reset the ISO in the remote flash trigger. Success ! (press lots of buttons and see what happens)
In the end this all turned into an exercise in using negative space.
I don't usually blog for other things but Simple Things sent this bed and night stand out just when I needed a new bed for my house, and it is perfection. I am using the PG version. This bed set is available at this round of Uber - and I think it would look smashing in my Shotgun House. The Highboy is by me. The house is my "real" home in the Grove which has never been released because I like that mine is the only one.
When I saw this bendy tree in a landscape I had to try to get it isolated and that's when I found out it had a friend.
Whether sharing a grand adventure, hardship, or a thing of beauty, the experience is always better when you have someone to share it with. I count my blessings in that simple truth and I'm sure this couple did the same during last night's sunset at the beach.
There's always something going on beneath the surface, there's no denying that. On a daily basis, we have primary goals on what we'd like to do, but somehow, so many things seem to find themselves into our lives and sooner than later, all these distractions veer you off from what you'd ideally like to be doing. Where would you be and what would you be doing if all your responsibilities seemed to vanish for a while? To spend each day doing the things you are passionate about and love to do. How different would your life be?
