I-e-I-e-I-e-I-e-I, I don't know what to do

Now when the du-oo-u-oo-u-oo-u-oo-ub, yeah when the dub's gone, hey

I said I don't know what to do when

The dub stops, no I ... hey

I said I don't know what to do when

The dub stops, no I

Said the rhythm'll change me, love

Rearrange me

And rock me like a baby and help me

When I cry

Your eye on the sparrow, your mind is a temple

You cannot fight it, no matter hard you try, oh

Can I feel the vibe, can I feel the vibes tonight, yeah-eh, I

Can I feel the vibe, can I feel the

Vibes tonight, yeah-eh, I

Poinsettias.

Poinsettias are part of the Euphorbiaceae or Spurge family. Botanically, the plant is known as Euphorbia pulcherrima.

Many plants in the Euphorbiaceae family ooze a milky sap. Some people with latex allergies have had a skin reaction (most likely to the sap) after touching the leaves. For pets, the poinsettia sap may cause mild irritation or nausea. Probably best to keep pets away from the plant, especially puppies and kittens.

Poinsettias are not poisonous. A study at Ohio State University showed that a 50-pound child would have to eat more than 500 leaves to have any harmful effect. Plus poinsettia leaves have an awful taste. You might want to keep your pets from snacking on poinsettia leaves. Eating the leaves can cause vomiting and diarrhea.

The showy colored parts of poinsettias that most people think of as the flowers are actually colored bracts (modified leaves).

Poinsettias have also been called the lobster flower and the flame-leaf flower, due to the red color.

December 12th is Poinsettia Day, which marks the death of Joel Roberts Poinsett in 1851.

In Mexico, the Poinsettia is displayed in celebration of the "Dia de la Virgen", which is also coincidentally, December 12th.

The Aztecs used the Poinsettia bracts to make a reddish purple dye for fabrics, and used the sap medicinally to control fevers.

Country living makes enjoying the simple things like walking in my own yard more enjoyable. There’s so much color in the form of trees, shrubs and flowers. Taking photos of quality has become so convenient that we now can even use our cell phones. So next time you’re in a conversation that’s not going well just excuse yourself and take some quality photos and post them right here on Flickr. :-). You can make that phone call anytime. Enjoy your yard today, Thanks for viewing my photos. Gratitude and Kindness can be found almost anywhere even in your yard if you look, so give it a try.

A simple seascape from a quick visit to Pebbly Beach on Friday, just because I like the colour of the water :)

At the back of the beach are some rather large sand dunes, which in itself wasn't necessarily a problem, being used to enjoying beach workouts and sand dune runs. I did however underestimate the steepness and the softness of the sand. You take one step forward 20cms or so and then you would literally sink back 15cms. It was faster dropping to your knees and dragging yourself up. That probably explained the lack of any other footprints, or footsinks I should say, Halfway up my quads were trying to talk my hammies and glutes into going on strike and telling my bossy brain they were stopping. I was on their side but much to my dismay my brain tricked them and told them we were nearly to the top and keep going.

The views from the top were quite spectacular and worth it though, a different view of a beach I have been to several times. After rolling back down I sat down at the bottom to rest with a drink of water and an apple and soak in this simple view. I wish I could have got onto that rock to dangle my feet in that inviting looking water, but the tide was coming in so didn't risk it.

Have a great sanddune-free weekend everyone!
