A sign at WOMAD 2012 in Charlton Park UK
Presumably adapted from an original road sign for an early festival in the eighties when W.O.M.A.D. was short for World of Music Arts and Dance. Careful punctuation again - Keb' Mo' must have been pleased to see this.
I think it must have been the sunniest WOMAD for a long time but up until this weekend it has been anything but a "Sunny July". I can imagine the sign would look quite depressing in the rain. So either this was a last minute decision to add the "Sunny" or someone knew that the sun would shine over Charlton Park this weekend.
Dogs in Montpellier can read. Any found swimming are collared by the police*. They also do the crawl.
[*A weak joke in English: dogs wear a collar and if the police arrest someone, you are 'collared'. ]
As far as I could tell, all these girls did was hold up a sign. So I made them cheer for Portugal :)
What a huge sign!
El Corte Ingles (The English Cut as in tailor's cut) is the biggest department store group in Europe and ranks fourth worldwide. El Corte Inglés is Spain's only remaining department store chain, as well as owner of several associated businesses - including BriCor, a DIY superstore.
El Corte Ingles are well known for their excellent customer service.
This sign sits over the driveway of a lovely old farm in Warren, Oregon. There is a big, beautiful old red barn and several outbuildings. The lovely old farm house is indeed made with many stones. I'm wondering if the sign refers to "Stone" as the family name, the stones of the house, or if they left out the "R?" Hmmm... ;-)
The temporary warming hut, at Madison Junction, (including concessionaire sales,) is removed for the summer season. This was the last posting for a predicted Old Faithful eruption.
Before 1963, Government Center was known as Scollay Square and what is currently the Blue Line subway platform underground was once called Scollay Under. Recently some false walls were torn down, and the old Scollay Under mosaic tiles were uncovered, and can still be seen on the eastern portion of the platform. While Mike's attracts most of the tourists, Modern Pastry is a worthy North End rival across the street. The family-owned bakery has been around since the 1930s and many locals prefer Modern's lighter, crispier cannoli, which is piped to order on the spot. (#57 of 100 in the Boston Signage Project)
This sign caught my attention a while ago...my family didn't notice the error until I pointed it out. The funny part is that the other side is done right. I wonder why they never fixed this side. Do you think they did this on purpose?

Saw these signs while driving back from the family memorial service. Not sure what the significance of the fish is.
