Van Dyk's is this little hole-in-the-wall ice cream join in Ridgewood. Their ice cream is really quite delicious. All of the ice cream is made on premises. They usually have a new/unique flavor or two each month.
Apparently there was a stretch in the 80's or 90's where they were buying someone else's ice cream and just reselling - which explains the "Homemade Again" on their sign.
Confusingly, a web search using the spelling from the sign nets very little useful information. Go with this info and be well!

Info sign of previous photo. Ten Mile Canyon is now a National Park and It gets stinkin cold up there.
this is my view of the pool outside of my apartment. it reminded me of Japan a few days after the devastating Japan, and I felt compelled to take a photo to document the similarities I see in Vancouver to some parts of Japan that I have been lucky enough to see for myself.
Japan has this quiet beauty that so far no where else has in my opinion, it's not just a visual aspect, but everything in essence. I there is a word for it in Japanese, but my memory fails me right now.
My thoughts daily are with the Japanese and all those affect near and far...
Great use of replaced road signs. I can't remember where in Pennsylvania I saw this "park" with several artistic pieces. Nice way to recycle.

A funny sign encountered during a self-guided tour of Upper Town. Wonder what happens to the dog if he's "parked" there longer than 10 minutes...

This place is actually still open. It's on Rt. 7 in New Milford, CT. I don't know if the sign was designed this way or if the sun has faded it but I really the the three letters being different shades of blue.
This is the sign that welcomes you to our Little County Town. It's fairly new, and I think the art work is beautiful!
two young lads moved this sign* from the front into the car park behind the flats!
