This sign sits over the driveway of a lovely old farm in Warren, Oregon. There is a big, beautiful old red barn and several outbuildings. The lovely old farm house is indeed made with many stones. I'm wondering if the sign refers to "Stone" as the family name, the stones of the house, or if they left out the "R?" Hmmm... ;-)

Driving by, my family got a good laugh out of this sign so I just had to pull over and get this shot. I think this would be a very "Odd" Lodge to be asked to belong to.
Wonder what kind of odd things you must do to be accepted? Who knows?

5 Man Electrical Band
A little bit closer to the water cascading over the side of the Derwent Dam in Derbyshire UK. The sign basically says not to pollute the water......
I went with Steve to the butcher's yesterday afternoon. Since we were at Noe & Church (and had iced drinks in hand from Martha & Bros.), we decided to walk up the ridiculous hill to the intersection of Noe & Valley. I took basically the same picture over three years ago with my little camera, and Whole Foods Market wanted to use it as part of a sign in their new Noe Valley store. I was a little dubious about whether the resolution would be good enough... I figured it merited a reshoot anyway.
And with that, I'm pretty much caught up for the first time since early August. Of course, I may still go back and post some of the pictures that didn't make the initial cut.
Gayton Village Sign.
At the Mill End of Gayton, at the cross-roads, is the three-sided village signpost. The two prominent landmarks, church and windmill, are featured as well as what was once a familiar sight, a full haycart.
Before 1963, Government Center was known as Scollay Square and what is currently the Blue Line subway platform underground was once called Scollay Under. Recently some false walls were torn down, and the old Scollay Under mosaic tiles were uncovered, and can still be seen on the eastern portion of the platform. (#66 of 100 in the Boston Signage Project)
Saw these signs while driving back from the family memorial service. Not sure what the significance of the fish is.

This sign has been on the door to the trash chute in my apartment building since the 1980s and probably long before, judging from the illustration. 1950s perhaps?

When in Greece, you can't flush the toilet paper down the toilet. This sign in the hotel we stayed at is one of the funniest I've seen, so I just had to take a picture of it.
Based on its shape, I would guess that this sign dates from the 1950s or 60s. Its base was originally outdoors but has since been incorporated into an addition to the building.
The Rustic Resort sign up the Poudre Canyon in Northern Colorado. I thought this was a happy mistake since my ISO for some reason was set to 1600. Next time I'll pay a little more attention.
Update: I heard this place burnt down early this morning and it doesn't sound like they will rebuild.
