A sign at the start of the trail warning of Formosan black bears, wild boar, stags, snakes and bees. Very exciting!
I didn't check, but I assume Flickr has tons of shots of this sign. I was there. I had my camera. I had to do it.
I walk by the sign in the photo every month - have done so for many years. I took the photo this past October. After walking by the sign so many times and taking a picture of it, it wasn't until just now that I noticed the typo in the sign. Should be even more noticeable as the same word is in the sign twice - once correctly, once not. (UPDATE: Sent the owners the photo...sign corrected)
Governor Moore Signs Bills into Law by Patrick Siebert, Joe Andrucyk at 100 State Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401

Wood, Metal, Leather, early 19th century
It was customary in the nineteenth century for shops to display signs with over-sized objects — top hats or eye glasses, for example — to display what the store sold for the benefit of f customers who could not read the store's newspaper advertisements. This larger-than-life skate sign (the skate is 5 feet, 2 inches (157 cm) long) features an elegantly curled front blade with an iron ball-point.
Dogs in Montpellier can read. Any found swimming are collared by the police*. They also do the crawl.
[*A weak joke in English: dogs wear a collar and if the police arrest someone, you are 'collared'. ]
I've always wanted to stop and take a photo of this place but will have to come back at night when the sign is lit up. For some reason, I am a little leery of taking photos IN the park.
This sign sits over the driveway of a lovely old farm in Warren, Oregon. There is a big, beautiful old red barn and several outbuildings. The lovely old farm house is indeed made with many stones. I'm wondering if the sign refers to "Stone" as the family name, the stones of the house, or if they left out the "R?" Hmmm... ;-)
"Sign Sign everywhere a sign
Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign"

Signage designed and produced for whatiftheworld Art gallery in Hope St, Cape Town. www.whatiftheworld.com
The sign was constructed with wooden blocks, each with a different depth, so that the sign seems to fade away as you walk past it.
I went with Steve to the butcher's yesterday afternoon. Since we were at Noe & Church (and had iced drinks in hand from Martha & Bros.), we decided to walk up the ridiculous hill to the intersection of Noe & Valley. I took basically the same picture over three years ago with my little camera, and Whole Foods Market wanted to use it as part of a sign in their new Noe Valley store. I was a little dubious about whether the resolution would be good enough... I figured it merited a reshoot anyway.
And with that, I'm pretty much caught up for the first time since early August. Of course, I may still go back and post some of the pictures that didn't make the initial cut.
