One of many traditional old shop / work shop signs in the villages and small old towns of rural France
The Bald Mountain Lodge - the place to stay and play in Ketchum, Idaho is long gone. Part of it was moved to the Hagerman area several years ago and the rest was torn down. It is full vacant block on Main Street in Ketchum today. The sign is the only thing which remains.
While I didn't make it to Columbia, MO this trip, I did see the signs. They are serious about school athletics. In Columbia itself, you see tiger paw prints painted quite large in the middle of the roadway. (How come some flickrer hasn't got a shot of that for me to link to here?) And here we are - quite a ways down the road from them, and they have some rather serious signage.
These signs are useful in theory, but nobody follows them. Always stay sharp on the street if you don't want to risk being run over by a bicyclist.

The pedestrian / tourist signs in Mechelen depicted not only the direction to the landmark, but also a historical event associated with it.

I've always wondered what these two little signs on the drive past the water tower going down to Lincoln Memorial Drive are, but I've only tended to wonder about them while driving past. They're too small to read while driving, so since I was walking around the area yesterday I thought I'd take a shot. They turn out to be two quotes from Dr. Seuss.

While we were in the sun room to do the signing the legal marriage papers, Dave played a song, Husband and Wife, that he had written for his own daughters' wedding. Susan and Sam accompanied.
