Saw these signs from Highway and ask owner for permission to photo them. Great signs.
On extreme right of photo is the base of old gas pump.
Coca-Cola is only sign not petroleum related.
A panhandler is usually located near this east-Toronto spot. He took today off because of the nonstop rain. Rather than take his sign and coin box home, he just "parked" them in the narrow lane way between shops until the weather improves.
WEEK 2 – Spaghetti Warehouse “Double Helping,” Part 2
Here’s a shot of that secondary sign, with the arrow pointing leftwards toward the front of the building and its parking lot. (This is the back right corner of the building, on the right-side wall.)
Now for what you’ve all been waiting for: the explanation on why Spaghetti Warehouse chose to close its Memphis location. Some of you may be thinking crowds are to blame. I’ll agree with you to an extent. Yes, the crowds were insanely large for this closure period, but in normal operations, this place was pretty much a ghost town, if Street View images (like this one) are to be believed. I think a lot of people in Memphis and the Mid-South made a lot of good memories at Spaghetti Warehouse… but the shine and allure faded away over the years as they grew older, and the place sadly became more and more forgotten. This place was open for 30 years after all, so what for one generation was a “happening” hangout and the highlight of Downtown Memphis, was to the next an outdated spaghetti joint from the 80s that seemed almost out of place in Downtown amongst all the other revitalization projects going on. Indeed, one MBJ editorial commenting on the closure reads, “The Spaghetti Warehouse weathered a time when there wasn’t much going on Downtown. In all seriousness, it might have been the only thing going on Downtown at the time. But, now, that land is prime real estate.” In essence, it grew obsolete. (cont.)

I have rescanned some of my Tribeca/downtown negatives to replace the poorly scanned shots I had in my "Old New York" album from a few years ago.
Have some more to do and will delete the old ones and add as I go.
Was walking around in a antiques store full of stuff, and I seen this. I thought it was good for its location, and then I about someone who needs it more then me. Sad that people have this much trash that a sign like this is needed.

This left arrow retrofit kit probably wasn't compatible with this old traffic signal head, so the engineer decided to mount it on its own separate mast attachment. This signal is so old I can't even identify its manufacturer.
I like the ranch sign. But I think the farm implement in front adds clutter. If it was off to the side there would be a better view of the details in the ranch sign.
Lonely RESTAURANT sign of the Spa City Diner in Saratoga Springs, New York. Address: 153 S. Broadway. The diner was demolished in 2019 for mixed use development... that has yet to come. So grateful that at least the sign was left.

Well it's finally going to happen. The weatherman says we are going to get hit with "the BIG ONE"!
Time to sit back and watch the insanity ensue as folks rush off to the grocery store and wipe out the shelves in anticipation of this event.
People around here really do go crazy when they predict snow. I'll bet the folks that live in places like Michigan or upstate New York just laugh at us.
Sigh! I guess I better go get that loaf of bread!

A repairman working on the marquee for what was once the State Theatre - on State Street the Uptown district of Westerville, OH. The State Theatre opened as a movie house in 1927. It screened films until it closed sometime in the 1970s. It was vacant for years until becoming in turns a furniture store, a consignment shop, and a couple different restaurants, including the current "Barrel & Boar BBQ Gastropub". The marquee is original, restored a few years ago (the "8" was added) and being maintained by the current occupants.
