Street photography from Glasgow, Scotland.
Colour re-edit of a shot from April 2019. I am so desperately missing the sights and sounds of the city but Glasgow remains under level 3 restrictions for another week. Stay safe out there!
In gardens bright, where colors bloom,
Pink cosmos dance in nature's room.
A ballet of petals, a graceful trance,
In hues of pink, they sweetly enhance.
Beneath the sun's warm golden kiss,
Cosmos sway in nature's bliss.
Their petals blush with rosy hue,
A dance of pink, a sight so true.
Oh, pink cosmos, in your grace,
You paint the world a softer space.
A symphony of color, a poet's dream,
In every petal, life's art supreme.
I have photographed several bird species around Ao Nang, in Thailand but this chestnut-headed bee-eater (merops leschenaulti) was, for me, a single and surprise sighting. More at "Colin Pacitti Wildlife Photography" - www.colin-pacitti.com.

Native Masked Bee (Hylaeus (Euprosopoides) perplexus)
My second sighting of this species of Masked Bee. I am hoping they will settle and set up a colony here.
in the park the other day...i came across this sight...lol...
the fenced in giraffe was reaching as high as he could to get someting to eat...his body was hid by tall boards inside the fence so we couldnt see the giraffe with out paying at the gate so this is all i saw...what a funny sight
for the Smile on Saturday challenge "music in B+W"
I couldn't resist this week's challenge! I love music, especially classical music. I used to play the clarinet, and now there's just a recorder and a fife in the house to remind me - and plenty of sheet music (arranged primarily for piano). Together with the joke tea towel with dozens of musical puns and expressions.

This shy, solitary bird, that usually prefers the quiet, heavily wooded backwaters of the river, is being seen more and more often, largely due to the lack of tourism... His crepuscular activities contribute to his retiring behaviour...
Finding him out in the open was wonderful sighting...
TGIF right? It’s been highly anticipated this week to be honest. I’m still roaming around the town and looking to shoot some more IR images. It gets me out of my usual routine and that is always a good thing. If you would like to try something different in your photography, what would that be?
There is something to be said about being a photographer, and married to a magician. He takes you along for the ride when he goes off to the mountains to perform a magic show.
Even when you are feeling bitchy.
Especially when you are feeling bitchy.
The magnificent sights eradicate the bitchiness. Real fast.
We are in Banff, Alberta tonight. We are staying at the Banff Springs Hotel. Yes, that Banff Springs Hotel -- one of the most gorgeous properties on the planet. And the same hotel where some of the scenes from the horror classic, The Shining, were shot! Woooo!
Yes, I think this diva will stay.
Thanks, David!
Hey, I know...I will take a shot of the hallway, and then add some ghosts.
Oh, my, how original. Don't care - it'll be fun. Besides, I've turned out 2 chapters in only 2 days.

...on my way to work today. Not a typical image but this made me smile. As have all the amazing polaroids this week. Roid Week 2014/5
At last I gain the summit plateau of Ben Avon and the rocky tor marking its peak is within sight. I'll have to climb on top to claim the Munro bag but fortunately my legs still seem up the task.
Climbing Ben Avon (pronounced Ben A'an) which stands at 1171 meters (3842 feet), and Beinn a'Bhuird (pronounced Ben a-voashed) standing at 1197 meters (3927 feet), sees me covering a distance of just over 24 miles. They are my 2nd & 3rd Munro's of the season, and bring me to a total of 26 now.
This caught my eye on Sunday , the weather vane with the Union Flag flying at half mast from atop the bell tower of Leatherhead church . Flags across Britain were flying in tribute to Prince Phillip .
It was the fact that this was all I could see of the church hidden by the trees making the sight all the more eye catching .
