The aim of yesterday's short walk was to have a look at an old Yorkshire Water company sighting tower
"Aim for a star, and keep your sights high! With a heart full of faith within, your feet on the ground and your eyes in the sky". ― Helen Lowrie Marshall.

Winter pink skies, freezing cold and snow-covered (birch) trees... And Nature acting as a balm on me.
We were carefully monitoring this site for a while and I'm safe to publish this as they are ready to move on with their life.

This grey fox mom let me catch sight of her once again a few days after the first time. Avila Beach, CA, USA
As we left the capital city, Wellington I saw window cleaners on ropes. They were on the Beehive (Māori: Te Whare Mīere) which is the common name for the Executive Wing of New Zealand Parliament Buildings. This is where our coalition government rules from. In the last few days they finally decided to go ahead with the new hospital for Dunedin. For several months we had $48 million worth of piles waiting for a decision to continue building or not. Fortunately they are now going to continue.
At 5 pm here it is 22C with sun and light breeze. The back to school summer continues.

Another photo of the beautiful female leopard that ran alongside the road as we were driving along. We stopped the car and she came up beside the car and hid behind a bush and began watching some Impala on the opposite side. They spotted her and she decided to just sit and wait. There were no other cars around for quite a while, so a wonderful sighting where we had her to ourselves for photos.
My Jolie shot this for me as I couldn't ever catch him. It's the best my camera can do.
Thanks for stopping by.
I finally saw my first few butterflies of the year in a short stroll in my local reserve. Friends have seen butterflies before this.
This is the only butterfly I saw settled.
It is damaged and not on a nice background, but I always like to upload my first UK butterfly photo each year.
If only I could swap this with one of Susan's!

Formosa Beach - Torres Vedras - Portugal
Formosa is located in the southern part of Santa Cruz, bordered to the south by the Amoeira Beach Amoeira and north to Guincho Beach.
Forming a small but very nice and cozy bay surrounded by lofty and rugged cliffs, is a very sheltered beach that protects swimmers from the cold north winds, making this beach frequented at all seasons of the year.
Beach served by an extensive, but narrow but narrow sandy area, is a beautiful bay that invites for a paused and relaxed swim.
Due to its location within the urban environment and, being endowed with various infrastructure and beach facilities, it becomes convenient for all Santa Cruz residents - way walk to the beach.

One of the more unusual things I've seen over the years' on CSX's Boston line was the 2004 Democratic national Convention special that Norfolk Southern sent to Boston, MA. EMD SD70M 2616 and nine passenger cars from the executive fleet were under tight security and a 24 hour watch in Allston, MA, when vandals decided to display their art on the side of the passenger coaches. We did hear that the top brass were not too happy about the mess, not surprising. At the conclusion of the festivities in Beantown, the train deadheaded back to Atlanta with no CSX pilot engine. Here P-025 are passing the William Wright Mill along the Quaboag River in West Warren, MA on July 31, 2004. So, as cool as this was, how much better would this have been with the F-units?
because you never know what you have until you've lost it.
Just having fun messing around. Combination of a shot of my eye and a landscape sunset shot.
A moment to pause and observe keenly, before the energy flows again. Willow playing in the water at the Mosman Park beach.
Quite a surprising sight on the outskirts of Huddersfield is this local vineyard. I’ve got my name down as a wine taster but I guess there might be a waiting list. C’est la vie.
A nice couple allowed me to photograph their pup jumping into Lake Dillon. I emailed them a number of the shots, and picked my favorite of the bunch to post.
C-GFBR, an Antonov An-2PD-5, several minutes after it crashed at Greenbank Airport (CNP8) at Uxbridge, Ontario.
Soon after taking off at 0940 local, the aircraft experienced a serious oil leak that coated the cockpit windows and negated visibility. Thankfully, the sliding side windows in the cockpit were operable and allowed the highly skilled pilot to return the airplane to the 2,700-foot-long grass strip.
Upon landing at 0953, the aircraft slid uncontrollably (thanks to oil coated tires and wet grass) off the runway and into a culvert before slamming against the embankment.
The 1,000 horsepower radial engine was separated from the big biplane's firewall.
Details about the accident are available here:
Ever feel like you can't breathe
then you wash over me
I need an escape
you're the light
don't stop, not tonight
and I'm never going to leave your side.
