Shells, shells and more shells! I think it's a requirement if you live in Florida to have jars of shells all over your house.

The house boat crew dumped us off at some random village near Kumarakom. Right next to the dock were these piles of shells and some kind of shell grinding apparatus. Or at least that's the theory.

I'm a big fan of the work of Maggie Taylor. She creates her images by using a scanner more than a camera. I scanned this shell a few days ago and the background is the cloth I used to clean the glass. Perhaps when I have some time, I'll scan a few more bits and pieces and see what I can do with them.
This is part of the old Shell Haven Oil Refinery, soon to be a port complex. The last remaining process unit (Bitumen) has been demolished.
