Shells.
âSeashells are proof that nothing is ever really empty. The rush of the immortal wind whispers itâs secrets to those who stop to listen.â
This is my Camino shell from my travel in Spain in 2015. The Scallop Shell is used as a symbol of direction along the Camino, pointing pilgrims towards Santiago. Pilgrims also wear this symbol themselves which further enhances the camaraderie along this great walking trail. My Camino story in my book On foot in France (my 2019 Camino on the Puy-en-Velay route towards Spain is available on Amazon).
Macro Mondays theme 5 Letters
Sea Urchin shell measures 4 cm across.
Happy Macro Mondays (but not so in our household as it's becoming clear that our dog will not survive many more days đ)
Macro Mondays theme: Rows
Here we have a real close-up of a shell showing the rows of ridges of a shell.
Captured at f22 not an f-stop I tend to use much as the image can appear soft but managed to get it right here, more by luck than judgement I would say.

Last night we had a football evening full of excitement, and in order to reduce the tension since we were rooting for different national teams, we decided to use that time and crack nuts while watching TV. The action was successful because we didn't get nervous so mush and at the end we had 2 kg of cleaned walnuts.

Macro Mondays - Spiral
Happy Macro Monday everyone.
I had been playing around with this shell and decided it needed some water drops. But that still wasn't working, so I dropped the shell into a glass of water and amazingly one of the water drops stayed put, right where it looks, to me, like the eye of a fish.
The shell is 2.6cm, or 26mm, from tip to toe.
Two shells which I collected from a beach many years ago.
'Two' for 'Macro Mondays'
Thank you for your views, faves and comments.
Happy MM
This is the corner of a shell box, the frame square is 1 inch, these tiny shells are glued to the sides and top of the box.
This is one portion of my shell collection all from the East coast of Florida. I was and still am a beach bum and I will always cherish my memories of 30 years on our local beaches. Please send good vibes and prayers for the residents of Floridaâs West coast ( Gulf of Mexico) side, for those who donât know ), we canât all know everything.
Does the little bit on the end of this shell look like a little shell eye to you too?
I like to think that there is a whole little world inside with little shell creatures looking at live feeds from the "eye" on little TV screens, analysing response tactics to the environment on their little shell computers, initiating their outer shell of silence until any potential danger has passed, and then cheering and jumping about and giving each other little shell creature high-fives. That little hole in the spirals under the eye is their emergency escape hatch I reckon. In an emergency, the ConchChime goes off and they throw a little shell creature ladder out the hole and make their escape while whatever they are escaping from is busy at the main entrance. There may have been a little hero shell creature stay behind to distract whoever they were escaping from, maybe named the Coral Crusader. I hope he/she made it out safely! Must be a tough life being a little shell creature, I'm exhausted just thinking about it!
PS - I like shells, but then again, who doesn't!
